Rep. Michele Bachmann, Governor Rick Perry and former Senator Rick Santorum met in Waterloo, Iowa this evening to speak to the Blackhawk County Republicans. Santorum spoke first then Rick Perry spoke and after that Bachmann spoke last, but before that this strange event happened:
Chuck Todd NBC: Bachmann would not enter the building until they had confirmation from staffers INSIDE that the lights had been changed. Overheard a Bachmann staffer supervising the light change say: "We're a go"
Peter Hamby CNN: Lights were dimmed for Bachmann when she took the stage
HotAir Ed Morrissey: Wrap-up from Waterloo: Perry embraced, Bachmann falls a little flat
The lighting had to be changed before Bachmann spoke, apparently at the campaigns insistence, which delayed her entrance and interfered with the timing of her entrance announcement. But more puzzlingly, Bachmann didnt arrive to mix with the crowd before the event started, waiting until she was scheduled to speak to enter the Electric Ballroom.
That explains why anything negative we say about Perry is treated like sacrilege by his supporters.

Rollins isn’t doing her any favors, IMO. He might have been aces for the Gipper, but that was 30 years ago.
OK she’s off my list
If you are serious and that one thing alone takes her off your list, that is way more than shallow on your part.
Migraines.
Don’t be surprised if the Leftists attempt to trigger a migraine.
Here's a piece explaining why Deaver was so important.
Excerpt: Romesh Ratnesar, in his book Tear Down This Wall, said that Deaver "was the most powerful force in the molding of Reagan's public image," and that "his true talent was stagecraft." Lesley Stahl got a quick tutorial in that when she did a scathing report on the Reagan budget cuts and expected rebuke from the White House. Instead they were all ecstatic. Why? Because the accompanying footage of my father was terrific, showing him to be confident and robust.

Bachman’s name recognition at this point is on par with Palin’s, and it didn't need to be that way for Sarah had she already jumped in the race. At this point, she is far behind in fundraising, and her lack of commenting about John McCain's attack on the Tea Party and their candidates isn't doing her any favors.
Let’s make a big issue out of nothing.
Palinization Process, continuing.
Next thing you know they’ll be accusing her of being a Vampire.
I can, I've spent my entire life battling "cluster headache", the worst headaches known to medical science. Bright lights are one of the worst things for headache sufferers and I think you are spot on pointing that out. That's probably exactly why she asked that they be dimmed.
My room mate in college suffered from rare but very intense Migraine headache. One day when I entered the apartment he said, "Go away, do not turn on any lights or make any noise or I will kill you." I studied at the library that day. He was actually a very civil and gentle individual.
Bachmans name recognition at this point is on par with Palins, and it didn't need to be that way for Sarah had she already jumped in the race. At this point, she is far behind in fundraising, and her lack of commenting about John McCain's attack on the Tea Party and their candidates isn't doing her any favors.
Those are valid points. I'm not saying I'm right or you're wrong, but let me address your points one by one.
First, I'm wasn't aware that the Tea Party is putting money into Bachmann's campaign, although it is a little awkward -- mostly for Bachmann -- that the Tea Party doesn't know whether to support her or not.
Bachman's name recognition is probably not on par with Palin's. There are a lot of regular people not paying attention to the campaigns and certainly not the Ames Iowa Straw Poll. Everyone knows Palin from her VP-run, Saturday Night Live and her Alaska series.
Palin might be behind on fund raising, but she is ahead in minimizing costs, which other than travel, are almost zero. The other candidates have raised millions of dollars, but they have *spent* millions of dollars. Most of them are back down to zero -- and it's harder to go back to sources you have already tapped.
Sarah Palin's financial sources are mostly untapped (although she does have a PAC to help pay for her so far minimal expenses.) And, of course, there is the Tea Party, who will support her financially as much as they can until she gets some wins under her belt.
A blitzkrieg style suits Sarah Palin. She is much better on shorter, all-out blitzes versus long battles. She plays a different game. She is wise to wait.
That is another good reason — she wanted to be able to see and react to the crowd.
It’s a good thing we aren’t talking about Sarah Palin, or you’d be labelled a “concern troll”. :-)
So long as she’s not a witch. :-)
I wouldn't be surprised at all to hear that the union dirty tricks brigade (most of these venues are union only work areas) had replaced all the spots with the highest wattage bulbs, in order to make those on stage perspire. Why use a 1000 watt bulb, when you can throw a 3000 watt in and and make those Republican faces sweat for the cameras.
Lots of unflattering pictures of Michelle Bachmann, which would have been used over and over in the future by a one sided, propagandistic press corps.
I'm sure she didn't ask for the lights to be changed for no reason at all.
(What’s that all about?)
Good theater?
Now I will definitely have to vote for Obama if she is nominated. This is a real deal breaker. /s
EVERY Republican candidtate should loudly REFUSE to reveal ANY of their medical and educational records until Obama opens his to the public (NOT just the picked press.)
Rick Perry has the full backing of the global elite. Perry’s minions all got here on the same day, a couple months ago, spewing out 20-30 Perry threads a day.
I was like Rick Perry, I thought we hated him?
There aren’t any “way to go Rick Perry” threads in the Free Republic archives. Just thing after thing that we hated.
But you know that if he’s Bilderberg, he’s going to get the deluxe treatment from the media.
Bachmann's name recognition: 76%
Palin's name recognition: 96%
