What I am thinking he is just fishing for a cause to make himself a hero for getting kicked out. I am willing to bet he'll join IVAW or Code Pink when he gets out if they give him the attention he craves. What he is getting booted for? no one here knows for sure.
AWOL and Desertion is serious business in the Military, especially in critical career fields. If this joker really took time off someone else in the hospital has to extra work to compensate his selfish act. In worst case scenario, someone may get killed.
Now he's bragging about it. Not cool or Patriotic. Deserting your fellow Airman isn't cool. its criminal. AWOL or desertion is not Patriotic, nor to be celebrated.
Talking brave and being in a war zone are two different thing. When someone talks tough behind a terminal you know its bullshit. Walking the walk like a few in this thread did we know what this guy is doing wrong. Even George Washington would of had this guy shot.
Those of us who are vets are not looking at this as a birther issue but a selfish act. I don't believe the good Reverend Mannnig would of told him to go AWOL. You never abandon your post or your buddies...it isn't kosher.
