A lot of candidates simply burn out and run out of public enthusiasm (and money) real early as they think the race is a sprint [to the top] when its really a marathon and all about being patient and methodical until its time to push it to the limit. Palin and even RINO Romney are winning in that they know not to rush in with guns blazing but bidding their time to strike...it will go down to Romney vs Palin.

But according to all the politically obsessed people on this site, she’s not running. Or she’s not running on their timeline.
Exactly, no one is paying attention.

The author is correct. Nobody is thinking politics right now. In fact, some only think of it a week before a primary general election, and many don't think of it at all, ever.
What's left of summer has folks in its grip. They don't live, eat and breath politics every minute like freepers do. I'll wager that today most of my neighbors couldn't list the menu of GOP primary candidates names if their lives depended on it.
So why should the candidates shoot all their cannons now in the crazy, lazy days of summer? They know it's fruitless, although they're going through some motions.
Even the Tea Partiers aren't having a single rally or political activity in my conservative county during these dog days.
Okay by me. Labor Day is when the pols, the parties and the people really get busy, trust me.

The very worst outcome of the GOP primary could be for Romney to get the nomination. It would be the worst for the GOP and for the Nation. It would be the death knell of the GOP.
Many conservatives will not swallow that shit sandwich....
Romney guarantees a 3rd party, and that is the only way the Dems remain in power.
Loose loose....

Except Romney is quietly raising money... what is Palin doing?
She can't raise a cent until she declares. That means the RINO Mitt is way out in front.
Nobody is going to catch Romney if they keep letting him skate in the debates.

Good article. Totally accurate.
