Yet another pundit takes to the airwaves to plug their book. This time, its one by Mark Stein: After America: Get Ready for Armageddon. He plugged it on Ed Driscolls site, and it was subsequently picked up by other conservative news and commentary outlets like HotAir.com.
It brings to mind an interesting question: Why do political books sell so well? What is it about them that makes so many people want to buy them?

Exactly. Why do conservative books sell so well?
Political book sales are a way to launder bribes.
While you can’t write a check to a politician, you can buy a few thousand of their books, no questions asked.
Yeah but nobody is writing political bribes to Ann Coulter or Michelle Malkin ... or Levin or Limbaugh or those other commentators ...
Political book sales are a way to launder bribes.
Corrected:
Leftist political book sales are a way to launder bribes.
David Limbaugh is a greatly underestimated and under-read writer. His thoughtfulness and sharp wit are as good as those of his brother, Rush.
He writes columns for townhall.com and are worth reading on a regular basis.
Religion teaches you to control yourself. Government is there when you can’t control yourself.
Politics is a melding of the two - they desire to try to control you even though you are fully capable and do a decent job of controlling yourself.
I dont know anymore. When I first got into politics, I bought one of Hannity’s. It had things on Daschle, Gephart, and some other current leader. A considerable amount of the book was about how bad those guys were. In the next election, they were all swept out on Bush’s 04 win. That made Hannity’s book lose significance for me. Also, it takes a while to write a book. So chances are, we all know about the issue that they use as the “cant miss.” With the internet, why wait for someone to write a book?
Also, I think some of the people who write books have a touch of arrogance in their “this is mine, I came up with it” approach, and that turns me away from reading a long, boring recap of what I already believe.
BTW, everyone check out Tom Daschle’s picture on his wiki page. I think he’s about to sing in Vegas.
I bet it does take a bit of arrogance to write a book, or host a radio show, or do anything where you put your ideas out there for everybody to see.
You ever read a liberal’s book?
I can tolerate only so many straw-men and lies and end up tossing them.
Conservative books? I’m the choir, preach to me. LS’s book is gospel, Levin’s a revelation.
Sometimes they say what I know but couldn’t articulate, or teach me something new. I’m conservative and I’m always willing to learn as long as you use facts.
