He should have said it was to make “A-Point-mints” (bad, I know)

Just put a picture of GWB on them and they will be allowed on the shelves again. Wait no more:

As we take another step closer to North Korea.
Seriously (to the state legislator who complained)? These sorts of mildly critical presidential novelties are ROUTINE in ANY bookstore, including state-financed student bookstores. I remember seeing little humor books like BUSHISMS and similar items ragging on Dan Quayle ALL THE TIME in such bookstores in the past. Cowboy up, Priscilla.

Bookstore director David Kent said the bookstore previously carried mints that satirized former President George W. Bush... Which, apparently, "Democratic (sic) state Rep. Joe Armstrong" did NOT find offensive.

I can’t believe that they pulled them from a few complaints. I would not buy them because it is just weird but can we please go back to a capitalistic society please. Can we just have folks who want to buy these to do so and those that don’t won’t.
To: Realman30
No problem. Not being a thread Nazi - just thought folks might be interested in the earlier discussion.

We have a local chain store here in New England called “Newbury Comics.”
It sells videos, some CDs, posters, t-shirts, caps, buttons, black lights and general stuff to appeal to teen-agers and twenty somethings.
When GWB was in the White House, the store had racks and shelves of paraphernalia ragging on Bush. When Obama won the election in 2008, there were figurines of him and Michelle.
But funny, now there are absolutely no buttons, t-shirts, bumper stickers or any other thing sporting negative comments about Obama.

I remember going into “Urban Outfitters” about 4 years ago and seeing an entire display dedicated to Bush bashing. I complained and got a look from the a$$wipe like I had a 10 lb goiter on my face. Display was still there weeks later.

"The Knoxville legislator says he went to the bookstore after a UT student complained to him about the mints.
"Bookstore director David Kent said the bookstore previously carried mints that satirized former President George W. Bush and said no offense was intended."
Liberals/Democrats/Progressives are simply ridiculous. It's such a waste of time trying to figure out whether they're delicate, little flowers who've bought into their selective "offense is offensive" twaddle or whether they're hypocritical cynics who use the whiny naivete of the former to shut down discussions they don't like.
