Get used to the idea - Romney will be the GOP nominee [newbie must want the zot to post this idiocy]

Posted on 07/25/2011 6:31:50 AM PDT by no gnu taxes

I'm not trying to inflame. I am not trying to troll. I just bring reality. You probably know it's true yourself.

Romney will be the guy.

At this time in 2007, the dreadful McCain was polling in single digits, and fundless. Yet he won the nomination pretty easily. Romney is MUCH stronger right now.

Who will beat him? I tend to doubt Palin will even run. Bachmann will never get establishment support, and the MSM's efforts to trash her are already underway. Cain just doesn't have the impetus. Ron Paul? Well, he's just Ron Paul. The rest are asterisks.

Back who you want. I encourage you. I hope I am wrong, but I won't be (I like Cain). It's going to be Romney vs. Kenyan Mchopeychange. You might as well get used to the idea.

A vote for Perry is a vote to import whole congressional districts full of illegal alien democrats. He and Romney both bite big weenies.

I’m no mitt fan but he might be right. The GOP is run by moderate/liberals, the early primaries are biased against the conservatives. Until/unless Palin and perry join the race then mitt probably is the odds on fave.

You can beat up on this poster all that you want, but I'm afraid the cold hard truth is that the powers that be have decided that he nominee will be Romney. I will be very unhappy, but will vote for anyone that will put the Marxist on the unemployment line.

Romney is MUCH stronger right now.

Just as he was at this point in 2007, along with Giuliani. How again did that turn out for the both of them... refresh our memories, if you would.

YOu are risking a Zot (which I think is ridiculous) but I somewhat think you may be right. It’s not too far-fetched to think there is a schism in the GOP. Look at what establishment hacks like Karl Rove did to Christine O’Donnell. Mitt Romney is an establishment man, and will have the support of party insiders. It’s a shame & I truly hope that you & I are wrong.

If it comes down to Romney vs Obama, I won’t vote. I do not trust Romney’s “pro-life” credentials. I’ll sit this one out.

I don’t like Romney.

The only positive thing I can say about him is he is preferrable to McCain.

“At least with Obama the Democrats will get the blame...”

NO WAY!

Is there anyone alive that doesn’t associate the “government shutdown” of 1995 with Newt and the Republicans? Sure, it took Clinton to veto the thing, but it’s Newt who gets the blame.

And with the fawning press that we have now, 0bama will likely not even be mentioned should any type of shutdown occur under his watch.

McCain would have been vastly preferrable to Obama. Ditto, Romney.

In 2008 perhaps, in 2012 definitely no. The RINOs only promise to slow the movement left. But Obama has already moved the nation so far left that merely staying where we are is a sure fire path to the destruction of the Republic from economic collapse. We need to move right, and to move right fast. Only by pulling the plug on Obamacare, reeling in the EPA, and eliminating all of the NEA and money for nothing programs can we hope to free the economy and pay our bills. Romney won't do that, so he is just as bad as Obama.

The only scenario for Palin to run, would be if Michele Bachmann were to stumble badly somewhere up the line.

So far, Michele is doing things just about as right as she is able.

Sarah and Michele appeal to just about the same demographic, and right now, it is an either/or, but not both in the race.

Perry is a wild card that I didn't consider.

Maybe so.

I’ll say this: it is definitely going to be on of these: Perry, Palin or Romney.

And as of today, only Romney is officially running....so......

But I personally think Perry is in, and I think, personally, it is still a question mark for Palin.

We should know the final field by end of September in terms of who is running, and Perry is getting some press this am that he will announce in late August.

So we’ll see.

You might be right, though.

Phoney hispanic "republican" front group encourages the GOP to use the "un American" tea partiers and then toss us aside.

How Un-American is the TEA PARTY

Are they so “irrational” and merely a self-centered group revolutionary geezers that do not hold American ideal and thus attack our American values—Democracy, Capitalism and Constitutionalism. Strategically, it seems like the right thing to do for Republican to utilize the Tea Party to diminish Obama’s agenda. But it is also time for Republicans that realize that this people merely using the flag colors as facade to promote un-American agenda . While they do have the right to dissent, sadly, their agenda pushed by special interest in Sacramento and D.C. do not embody the original best American values.

BTW They call Rick Perry the number 1 hispanic friendly US politician. (he even beat out all the democrats for that honor)
