GOP Strategist On MSNBC: Why Bring Up Bachmann’s Migraines If No One Talks About Obama Smoking
Mediaite ^ | 7/21/11 | Matt Schneider

Posted on 07/21/2011 3:47:42 PM PDT by markomalley

Republican strategist Cheri Jacobus appeared on Martin Bashir’s show with guest host Richard Lui to discuss a new poll analyzing Sarah Palin’s potential entry into the presidential field. The results suggest Palin could mean serious trouble for Michele Bachmann. Jacobus not only was disturbed by the constant fascination of “trying to pit two women against each other because of their gender,” but also was annoyed that Bachmann, unlike male candidates, must deal with questions about her health and fitness.

Jacobus thought that everyone “making a big deal about migraines” was a “dog whistle” for the whole gender issue. Especially given that other male candidates didn’t suffer through the same scrutiny in the past despite their health issues. For instance, former Vice President Dick Cheney had various heart problems, Vice President Joe Biden had two life-threatening brain aneurysms, and since:

“We have a President who is turning 50 and he still is smoking. And if you’re President of the United States and you can’t kick the habit, you probably have a serious habit. That’s a serious health issue. If we’re going to do this, let’s look at everybody.”

Bachmann being held to a higher standard is simply because she is a woman, Jacobus argues. Yet as some have already noticed, much of the criticism of Bachmann is coming from conservatives who might be looking to attack her, not because her of her gender, but simply because they are scared she might actually win.

Obama’s 2009 presidential physical at Betheseda also had the recommendation that he “moderate his alcohol intake.” If they’re telling him to moderate his drinking, it means he’s drinking heavily. Yet no one but the British media reported this. Sorry, but a president who swills liquor in excess is more dangerous than one with migranes.

It is OK to talk about Michelle Bachman’s migraine headaches. While we are at it, lets talk about Debbie Wasserperson Shulze’s PMS and Janet Napolitano’s struggles with menopause. Did Hillary Clinton have a hysterectomy? Fair is fair.

Wonder why Ms. Jacobus didn’t raise the point that, with the letter from the attending physician of the House regarding Ms. Bachmann’s migranes, the US has more medical documentation from a candidate than for either a sitting or former President.

Cheyney’s heart problems were indeed an issue, but as he was not a primary candidate for president he was not subject to the kind of rival-inspired whispering campaign that Michele is getting.

"GOP Strategist On MSNBC: Why Bring Up Bachmann’s Migraines If No One Talks About Obama Smoking..."

Oh good gawd... Smoking is a Habit... Migraines are a medical condition...

Yes Obama shouldn't be smoking but its his choice if he wants to and really nobody's business. Medical Issues are fair game for a Presidential Candidate. But Smoking Cigs just doesn't even come close being it usually takes years to see serious side effects from such habits.

Now Obama NOT releasing his medical records IS an issue. And he should be taken to task for such! Smoking not so much!

What gets my a$$ is this a$$hat named Obambi is smoking in a taxpayers' publicly owned building. Rather than drag his sorry a$$ out of our White House and fine him for smoking, we look the other way.

Do White House tours allow American visitors to smoke during the tour? If not, then this illegal alien grifter should be given an ultimatum. Just who the hell does he think he is?

Then, add to that his obesely chunky wife who tells us our kids are too fat, and you get a couple of worthless clowns living in our White House.

Not to mention that ear to ear scare across the back of his head.

his apparent golf addiction that takes him away from the job for several hours per week.

Please!

Do you really want Obama making decisions about anything?

And there is really little difference between going off to play golf, and going off to Camp David. Let's keep our eyes on the ball.

Smoking isn't debilitating, despite the constant campaigns to pretend that it is.

I seriously doubt that he makes any decisions about anything. He says and does as he is told.

DWS doesn't have PMS ~ there's nothing left there to precipitate it. (She's a cancer survivor and we don't blame her for the results).

She is, on the other hand, proving that it takes only one woman to replace both Alan Grayson and Tony Weiner when it comes to being the Mouth Of The Democrats in Congress. Plus, she's clearly mentally ill. We do talk about that part.

"Yet as some have already noticed, much of the criticism of Bachmann is coming from conservatives"
Wrong -- and using Ed Schultz as a source for such an allegation shows just how far gone it is. Careful readers of the underlying original will note that Schultz used his op-ed to bash Bachmann, Pawlenty, Rove, and Romney, while looking like he was doing something non-partisan for a change.

There is the possibility he has several scars from an accident in a car when he was young. At the same time it’s the more orderly scar on the right side of his skull that’s disturbing ~ that’s where they installed the DVD drive!

The vicious attacks expose the fear the Democrats have concerning Bachmann, a true conservative.

How about drilling Obama about his relationships with various radicals such as Rev. Wrong, Bill Ayers, and all the other communists he associates with.
