Video showing what happened when Rupert Murdoch got attacked by the pie. The person who did the attacking is man who does both comedy and activism, named “Jonnie Marbles”. Overall, this is simply an outright show trial of the worse type and also the pie throwing incident just simply shows how low the radical left will go.

Situational awareness. The Mrs.Murdock is continuously aware of her moneybags and will attack any perceived threat with prejudice and force. The Limeys in the room were like a deer in the headlights. Hell, Murdocks son jumped up and back away from the action. Murdock, himself, remained in character as a semi-demented man(who is as sharp as a tack), not even turning his head to look at assailant. Mrs. Murdock is the hero.
She was behind Rupert, the son was sitting to his right. They were basically the same distance from the attacker, and Wendi got a punch by the time the son started to stand.
You can see the son immediately to Rupert's right, closest person to him.
We should have known when she entered the room with her 80-year-old husband that Wendi Deng would be the star of the show.
Wearing a bright pink jacket and black skirt, at the start of the hearing she examined the label on the bottle of House of Commons mineral water - checking it for poison, perhaps? - and then poured Rupert a glass.
...Nearly two-and-a-half hours into the hearing, a man calling himself Jonny Marbles - who had clearly lost his - leapt towards Mr Murdoch from his right-hand side, brandishing a paper plate with shaving foam on it, to make it look like a custard pie. But Wendi was too quick for him.
She leapt forward and appeared to clout her husband's assailant and prevented a much more serious incident.
And one of his attorneys. The, short, dark haired woman in the blue/gray suit was even faster to Murdock's defense.

I do say the security was failed to do its job.
The replay shows people between her and her husband, she dove over a couple of people to get to the guy. It looked as though the son was testifying and paying attention to his questioner while she had a better view of what was going to happen. Murdock screened the son from a good view.
The front view was not what the replay showed.
“I am suspicious that there was inside assistance to get the plate, cream and assailant into the small hearing room.”
