Veteran CIA officer Robert Baer, who spent more than two decades years in the Middle East, including stints in Lebanon and Syria, predicted on Pacifica Radio's KPFK Los Angeles show Background Briefing Tuesday that Israel would attack Iran's Natanz nuclear facility this September (and perhaps a few others), attempting to degrade their production capabilities.
Referring to former Mossad chief Meir Dagan's warnings of an Israeli attack on Iran as "no bluff," Baer maintained
Netanyahu is planning an attack, and in as much as I can guess when it's going to be, it's probably going to be in September before a vote on the Palestinian state...hoping to draw the United States into the conflict, and in fact there's a warning order inside the Pentagon to prepare for conflict with Iran.
Baer also predicted that the Iranians would
...strike back where they can and that will be in Basra and in Baghdad...[W]e've [the US] started to look at Iran's targets in Iraq and across the border.
Baer did not appear to be aware of the US Status of Forces Agreement with our "Iraqi allies" which specifically (and unconscionably) precludes using Iraqi territory for such a purpose. (Via Diana West --Article 27, Paragraph 3: "Iraqi land, sea and air shall not be used as a launching or transit point for attacks against other countries.")(continued)

I think the media has successfully predicted 9 out of the past 0 times Israel attacked Iran’s nuclear sites.
What scares me is that BOZ would use our troops in Iraq1 as chips to appease the Iranians...he WON’T protect them...
I doubt this is reliable information. Baer is an anti-semetic, arab placating, nutbucket, to begin with. And Pacifica Radio????? Really now....
Israel has a long track record of keeping mum about their more serious missions. Remember when they took out Syria’s nuclear weapon’s plant a few years back? Iraq’s nuclear weapons plants, the Russian radar system in Egypt??? ( The chopper hoist of the radar system is still my all-time favorite)
Israel does not trust Obama, Clinton, or anyone in the current administration- and with very good reason. So, it is doubtful that they would be giving a heads-up to the Whitehouse on anything this serious, until the mission is well in progress, or finishing.
They know Obama is diligently working against them, hates Jews, and wants to destroy Israel. He’d be very happy to see Iran take Israel out. Which, is probably why Obama was so lax in his paltry attempts to stop Iran to begin with.
I even question if Israel would take out Iran’s nuclear capabilities via missile attack. Given Israel’s highly advanced technological capabilities and success with Stuxnet, and G-D only knows what else they have on the back burner, it would perhaps be more feasible to go cyber, and remain quiet about it.
I am sure Israel has not sat contented, fat, and lazy upon her laurels after Stuxnet. The very survival of every single citizen of that tiny nation is at stake, so you can bet she has taken such technology much further than what everyone else anticipates, and in directions they never dreamed of.

The ellipsis here is unconscionable. Who is hoping to draw the United States into the conflict? Israel or will Iran retaliate in such a manner as to draw in the U.S.? You cannot tell what he intended to convey.
Stupid article. No attack in september.
Chris Matthews... agreed with Robert Baer who feared another attack could lead to "The Tea Party being strengthened" which could lead to "people blaming the White House for a situation it didn't create." Baer also hit Matthews' sweet spot of talking points when he went on to warn that the last successful terror attack "got us into a war in Iraq we didn't need to be in."
