The idea of doing anything legally permissible to oppose McConnell in his next election so he is gone is gaining traction in my mind...

Senators who think like that:
Place politics OVER the Constitution.
That is political garbage, they’ve got to go.

Senator John McCain cautioned that opposition to McConnells proposal could constitute treason. This country is fighting for its economic survival, McCain argued. The President is our Commander-in-Chief in this fight. It is everyones duty to get behind him, follow his orders, and carry out his plan.
I've got no words of wisdom for anyone who believes the above quote.

Semi, demi satire I would say..

Chucky Shmucky is telling us exactly what our Marxist in Chief will do. John Boehner needs to get a bill on the floor for a vote on what Republicans want appropriations for and let’s see what happens in the Senate. Call their bluff and get them all on record with a vote.

[Fearful that a failure to raise the federal governments debt ceiling could lead to the end of government as we know it, Senator Mitch McConnell.]
That’s the whole point, you ignorant ass! It would be the “end” of Government as McConnell knows it. The rest of us would celebrate in the streets!

Boehner observed. Right now, that means that the debt ceiling acts like a defacto balanced budget Amendment. This gives the anti-spending crowd tremendous leverage. Well duuugh... Go Boehner.. do not raise the debt ceiling..

it wouldn't be funny if it weren't so true

The fine print of the bill will be a directive to change the name of the executive office from “president” to “Caesar.”
Normally, such an action would require a constitutional amendment, but hey, that’s all passe.
Great satire, as always. Although, by tomorrow it will probably be news.

This is beyond crazy- it is suicidal. The federal government is the size it is today because it has given itself the power to create money out of thin air, and when it really needs money, it just prints it.
But further, Congress cannot cede or delegate its power over the purse strings that it is granted by the Constitution.
To: John Semmens; All
Sadly, there is a lot of sentiment to just chuck the negotiations and give Obama that absolute power. And not only in Congress, but out in the real world too. His true believers are salivating at the thought of an American Chavez, Castro, maybe even Hitler. Scary stuff.
Thanks again John for the ping.
To: John Semmens
LOL.
McConnell should change his middle name to Bootlicker.
