"Palin is lifted up to this by God Himself. What He wants done will not be altered by anyone."

Get help. Seriously.

People of faith (sincere, Spirit indwelled witnesses of Jesus Christ, to whom he has fulfilled His promise to live inside of ["Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but this I tell you truthfully; I shall be with you always, even unto the end of the age."]) pray about all decisions, especially major ones. Sarah is such a Christian, and she is prayer-led in her life.

Such people feel Jesus' powerful presence just as surely as you feel the bannisters on the stairwells you descend. When they pray to God for guidance, they don't "hear" Him say, "I want you to do this," or, "to do that." What they do is wait to see if they feel strongly moved to go in one direction or another, and have faith that, if they do feel strongly led, it is God's leading. Our Founding Fathers were also such Spirit led, p[rayerful Christians. They didn't do so bad, did they? Again, to somone lacking this faith, it sounds like so much hogwash... just as the Bible teaches believers it will.

But the Bible is also very clear that God lifts up leaders over men according to His plan and His will. If (when) Sarah announces, it will only because she faithfully believes that this is God's leading. And because of that, I am certain she can already start measuring the drapes for the Oval Office.

We'll see soon enough which of us was right.
