I’ve had it with the “shared sacrifice” crap. Getting less loot stolen from fellow citizens is not a sacrifice. Need to hear somebody say it. Seems like every Republican accepts the premise that a cut in handouts is a sacrifice.
You hit the nail on the head. To liberal/Democrat from Lauer to Obama, “shared sacrifice” means productive Americans getting mugged even more and shutting up about it.
Of course, to libs, "shared sacrifice" means that everyone else sacrifices more than they do. Their elites are especially protected from having to sacrifice a thing.
Shared by whom.. most of America don’t pay any income taxes..
Taxes are not shared.. if they ever were shared..
Corporations pay ZERO taxes that are not passed on to the consumer..
Consumers pay ALL TAXES...
I saw that exchange, and the only reason I watched it was because of Laura Ingraham. True to form, she didn’t disappoint.
Matt Lauer? Why bother? He’s a weenie. Always has been, always will. (Work with someone who went to school with him.)
He’s just the kind of guy you want to pants, or give a swirlie to. And leave his head in on the bowl refill.
Shared sacrifice should mean that 47 or 48% of the population that pays no federal income tax should. And - every company I’ve ever worked with has had to downsize at least once in last 12 years. It it time for Mamma Gub’mint to downsize.
Something so few understand. Who pays the corp? The consumer. Who pays the corp taxes? The consumsr.
Then consumers pay the taxes following the logic here. Thus if we increase the taxes, then people will consume less.
This is all too rich. I get the impression that Liberals felt this whole process was not going to have the visibility and significance with Americans that it has.
This is the kind of stuff they are used to smuggling in the back door before voters have a chance to object.
It’s much more transparent NOW and the Liberals are NOT liking it!!!
Matt Lauer's disgusting cheapshot - the video
In this video you will see Lauer show a portion of his interview with George Bush during which he asked Bush about Kanye West's declaration in the aftermath of Hurrican Katrina that, "George Bush doesn't like black people." Bush responded:
"It was one of the most disgusting moments of my presidency."
End of clip, and now back at the studio; here is what Lauer looks into the camera and says:
"Here's a two-term president who ran the country during Katrina, 9/11, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the financial meltdown, and he's pointing the finger at Kanye West and that incident as the worst moment in his presidency."
See what Lauer did there? He turned Bush's phrase, "one of the most disgusting moments", into, "the worst moment", in order to paint Bush as having been more concerned about the inane rantings of a self-absorbed hip-hop artist than he was about the mass murder of 3,000 Americans, the loss of our best and brightest young people in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, and the economic mess.
Matt Lauer is a despicable little worm.
I'd like to spit right in Lauer's puffy, stinking face.
Hey Matt, next time send a man in (to take on Laura).
Personally, I think “Crash and Burn” is the new “Hope and Change”.
Precisely! Political elite (dems, Pubbies, whoever) don’t like flat tax because it comes with a built in ceiling. Flat tax times so many tax payers equals Fed. revenue. Flat tax also also makes it easier to track the money and facilitates having to make decisions on what programs need to be scrapped or other spending put on hold or eliminated.
Of course, an iron clad balanced budget requirement needs to put in place as well.
Governments, like individuals, will occasionally find themselves short of money. This shortfall can be paid for by a one time tax on all tax payers and/or making what ever adjustments are necessary in the next budget.
Bottom line: 1. Unlimited and unaccountable gov’t spending must be stopped. 2. Every wage earner must be taxed—even if it is only $1. 3. Policies and programs that have failed in achieving their stated purpose must be killed. 4. Monies collected for specific purposes must be spent for that purpose. If an occasion arises where one pot must be raided to temporarily fix another pot it must be openly debated and voted upon. 5. Any Congress and president that carries an unbalanced budget for more than two years must resign. The resignation would be effective upon the assumption of office of the newly elected officials.
My point: We either get serious about out of control spending or were doomed to keep going down the road to oblivion.
[ Then consumers pay the taxes following the logic here. Thus if we increase the taxes, then people will consume less. ]
Also WHY?... reducing taxes raises gov’t revenues.. because people consume MoRE..
The only “shared sacrifice” I’m interested in is making the leeches sacrifice by reducing or eliminating the handouts they get. And making everyone pay taxes starting at dollar 1.
No more free rides for the takers!
Saw it yesterday AM live and I loved it...
Right so it’s not really about raising tax revenue. It’s about control and the attempt to wreck the US economy in order to bring in Global Government (aka New World Order). This is also why they do not care about the US Borders. It’s because they do not believe in borders. Look where Obama got his approval to attack Libya. It was not the US Congress.
