And you don’t think a drunken moron in handcuffs can’t cause injury to someone?
Did the cops forget their iron toes shoes and stub their toes on Ring's ribs?
He was drunk and so is obviously a ‘dead beat’, ‘dead beats’ have no rights are just getting what is coming to them./sarc/
Just beating a few Freepers I know to the punch.
"Can't we all just get along."
Couldn’t tell if he was handcuffed or not. I’ve rolled around on the ground with a few guys, and been down in the mud, blood and beer more than once. The kicker needs to be fired and prosecuted. The clubber needs to be fired and prosecuted. The taser guy needs to be fired and prosecuted. If any other cops lied to cover it up they need to be fired and prosecuted.
Drunks are a pain in the rear, but if those guys can’t handle them they need to work as something else.
These thugs in uniform need to get punished just like we ndividual citezens would. This is beyond any justifiable beating by a mile!
"...video footage shows deputies repeatedly telling Ring to stop resisting arrest while he is incapacitated laying facedown in the snow with at least two deputies on top of him..."
Good to know that the cops are on our side/ sarc.
Just want to get the baton suckers view in: he may be a liberal community activist and deserves all that he gets.
These thugs are so stupid they are doing it under the watchful eye of three witnesses.
Cameras appear to be the only thing protecting us from the government thugs these days.
Dumbass cops have killed more than one person this way
They all pile on top until he cannot breathe and then when the guy starts struggling for air they yell “stop resisting” until he is dead
NOT ALL COPS ARE DUMBASSES -my son is a cop and my brother is FBI, I was SP in the air force and reserves and worked for many agencies afterwards - there ARE dumbasses just like in every other profession
Competent people figure out how to handle things, and this seems like a pretty simple, pretty ordinary, thing for competent cops to be able to handle.
This was not an impressive group of cops.
It would appear these cops may have acted “stupidly” but I’ll leave it to the expert-in-chief to make that call. Of course, since the victim apparently wasn’t black, I’m not holding my breath.
It appears other cops came in just to give a few kicks to the prisoner. Time for a few civil suits.
I do not trust anyone in a uniform. To hell with them.
Maybe they were just angry that he didn’t have a dog for them to shoot.
And this is from Friday:

Statement from Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis
WAVERLY, Tenn - Darrin Ring has sat in jail since January charged with aggravated assault on police officers and resisting arrest outside of Waverly.
However, that all changed after Public Defender Jake Lockert contacted District Attorney Dan Alsobrooks.
First, the D.A. requested an independent investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
"Once we actually reviewed the police in-car video, it raised enough questions to order a full investigation," said Alsobrooks. "We don't want to rush to judgment, but we did want to release Mr. Ring pending the investigation."

Ring has been in frequent trouble in Humphreys County. He has been arrested for walking into another man's home while intoxicated, DUI and for trying to stop traffic while intoxicated.
Humphreys County deputies once got a call that a werewolf was chasing cars. It turned out to be Ring.

(had to include the part about werewolves - too funny).
Just watched the video and thought that it was brutal. The police thugs are lucky the drunk they beat up was white or else this would be on the national news for weeks.
Many years aago I ran a detox evenings and nights. It was over a mens shelter. A wet shelter for those of you who know. Police used to drop off men to the shelter when there was an open bed.
One night I heard some scuffling. Two cops were whaling the tar out of some drunk. I came out and leaned over and said something to the effect: dont you think he has had enough? They stopped and left.
I drove a high profile car back then.
About a week later I was pulled over in the middle of town with five police cars surrounding my car. My infraction, a late inspection sticker. The police beaters called in the other cars. When the other guys realized that this was the beaters game, they slowly left. I was told I would have to have the car towed to the nearest station. Then they said, no, nevermind.
I will never forget that police intimidation. I never assume the news in real.
