I will try to make this vanity post quick and to the point. As you will notice by looking at my profile, I am new to Free Republic. I have enjoyed reading all the articles posted at Free Republic for a few year now, and just recently jumped in to become an active member.
I am an evangelical young earth right wing conservative who has voted for every Republican presidential nominee going all the way back to Jerald Ford. Like many of you the internet has broadened my knowledge of the world around me. Then I found Free Republic and it seemed like a whole new world of knowledge has been presented to me that I was not getting anywhere else.
One thing I noticed at Free Republic, is that many Freepers have their own blogs, and they post portions of their articles here for other Freepers to read. I also noticed that many Freepers take offense to bloggers as they refer to them as blog pimps. However, I also noticed that not all bloggers are refereed to as blog pimps, and that is part of my question.
What exactly makes one a blog pimp and what makes one a respected blogger? Also, of all the bloggers who post their articles here, which Freeper bloggers are the best ones to follow?
Welcome to FreeRepublic.
Many here don't believe that 6 to 10 thousand year thing including me. I believe that there could have been a "Big Bang" & that God lit the fuse.
My Dad believed that it was about 6,000 years since the creation. That never made sense to me.
The Earth & the universe is obviously older than 10,000 years.
Can we stop these disagreements already? The earth will be 6245 years old this October!
Stop by our Sunday TV talk show thread there is always room for the best and the brilliant.
Did they have cable back then?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Maybe your post is the definitive statement on the thread! I think the first time I posted to a thread, the entire thread got taken down shortly afterward. It made me a little gun shy about commenting, that's for sure.
FReeper bray posts good articles here fairly regularly.
Hands down the two finest, different in their own ways, Savage Susie and Nathan Bedford. Not bloggers but excellent, original posters.
Thanks Allegra appreciate that.
Here is a plug for my website: www.brayincandy.com
My advice on starting out would be to look for posts on areas of interest to you instead of trying to follow individuals. As you read the posts there will normally by opportunities to join “ping lists” that will be of people also interested in those areas...join a few and get to know the people then you can make the choice for yourself. I have done this and now have a few people that I regularly run into on FR that are of like mind...and several that are not. The interaction of all the ideas do make some of the threads very interesting.
For disclosure...I am a Bible believing Christian, young earth creationist, husband of one wife, home schooling father of seven.
Welcome to Free Republic...Worldviewdad
Thanks humblegunner, I will be looking forward to your list.
I will also take your advise and search the bloggers history in the forum link of their name as you suggest.
Thanks for the warm welcome. I knew there were many like me. As I said I have been lurking for awhile, but not so constant;ly that I have very much information. I am hoping to gain more about FR and the members as I venture into discussing all the topics posted.
Me, I'm simply the best Keroke singer the world has known.
That looks like Malcolm when he was a baby!
How big is his motorcycle these days? ;-)
