I heard part of a radio interview with Dick Morris the other day. He said Herman Cain was now in the 1st tier of GOP candidates (which he defined as currently being Romney, Bachmann, and Cain). He placed everyone else (including Pawlenty, Santorum, & Newt) are in the 2nd or 3rd tier.
Morris also had this to say on OReily about the GOP field:
the best credentialed candidate of any of them is Cain.
In the past, Dick Morris has totally discounted Cain. Now he has Cain as one of the leading GOP candidates; and not just in vote getting ability, but in experience.
Whether you like Dick Morris or not isnt the point here. The point is that he is an inside-the-beltway guy, and he has done a 180 on Herman Cain. Its an early positive sign that were making inroads with mainstream Republicansthe kind that previously havent taken Herman Cain seriously.
This is a good sign for Herman Cains chances, and it shows that our work isnt in vain. Were making progressa little at a time, but we are making progress.
Or, Morris knows which side of his bread the wind is blowing on.
A random Sarah Palin quote on a Herman Cain thread? Really?
herman must be really making them nervous
Classic Morris. Starts saying Cain can’t win, then says he can.
Actually he was a corporate guy. Probably hasn’t signed the front of any paychecks.
Larry Craig and Dick Morris - toe tapper and toe sucker. BTW, can you get athlete’s mouth from sucking toes?
The choices are Palin or Perry (if they run), Bachmann, or Cain. Each have their advocates on here. Bachmann has serious problems handling flamer interviewers bringing up serious questions about her ability to handle a hostile debate with an opponent. Cain botched a 2nd amendment question and although he seems to be a nice competent man, he appears to have peaked out some time ago and is being Gingrichized with the fatal Newtitis (deserters).
If you believe the polls reflect electability (I don’t) then Palin can’t win. Rick Goodhair will have constant questions about secession, gardasil, eminent domain superhighways, etc.
The bottom line is that in the end (but not yet) the disparate interests here and elsewhere among conservatives will have to unite behind ONE of these (potential) candidates in order for the Tea Party to prevail against AMC’s son, who we shall call the Gremlin.
Not that it matters to you, but you gave excellent opportunity to promote a portion of his resume.
Herman's grampa's quote: "Them that's goin' get on the wagon. Them that ain't get outta the way."
It applies to Cain.
Herman doesn’t make anyone nervous. He will be out of the race before the Iowa caucuses if he can hold on to a staff that long. Luckily for him he can lend his campaign money to make up for the lack of donations.
When you have to resort to quoting Dick Morris to pump up your candidate you are one desperate supporter.
