The NH Union Leader and Mitt scrubs Mitts peacetime gaffe
In a Apr 25th 2011 Op-Ed NH Union Leader Mitt stated that:
Barack Obama is facing a financial emergency on a grander scale. Yet his approach has been to engage in one of the biggest peacetime spending binges in American history. With its failed stimulus package, its grandiose new social programs, its fervor for more taxes and government regulations, and its hostility toward business, the admin-istration has made the debt problem worse, hindered economic recovery and needlessly cost American workers countless jobs.
That op-ed is longer available on the Union leader's webpage and further more Mitts facebook post on the subject has also been cleaned. On the facebook post it now reads like this:
Barack Obama is facing a financial emergency on a grander scale. Yet his approach has been to engage in one of the biggest spending binges since WWII. With its failed stimulus package, its grandiose new social programs, its fervor for more taxes and government regulations, and its hostility toward business, the administration has made the debt problem worse, hindered economic recovery and needlessly cost American workers countless jobs.h/t Pete Petretich
Multiple Choice Mitt strikes again. Romney is putting out a paperback version of his book, No Apology, but has edited out references to the individual mandate contained in health care legislation he brought into law in Massachusetts. whoever added the key words. they are funny. keep up the good work.
Romney aides bogus badges: Sources detail illegal security tactic
" Boston Herald - Friday, July 20, 2007
In an apparent violation of the law, a controverisal aide to ex-Gov. Mitt Romney
created phony law enforcement badges that he and other staffers used on the campaign trail
to strong-arm reporters, avoid paying tolls and trick security guards
into giving them immediate access to campaign venues, sources told the Herald.
They (the aides) knew the badges were fake and probably illegal,
said a presidential campaign source who asked for anonymity
because the story could damage the individuals career.
Two additional sources confirmed that the badges - described as bright silver plates with a state seal attached -
were first created and used by Garrity while Romney was still governor."

Here, Mitt. Allow me....
Barack Obama is creating a financial emergency on a grander scale. Yet his approach has been to engage in one of the biggest man-made-overeas-kinetic-contingency-operations-time spending binges since WWII

Mitt Mulligan strikes again.
Not a supporter of Mitt in any way, but at least he/his people made the correction, instead of letting it stand.
Romney is a Democrat in Republican clothing.
A correction is annoted. What Mitt and his people did was cover up his gaffe with no notice of a rewrite. and the orginal oped in the unionleader has been taken down form its website. that again points to a coverup not a correction.
not sure. is there something worse than a dem if so Mitt is it.
Coverups are hiding criminal activities, not stupid statements. You’re making a molehill out of a dung heap, IMO.
If Mitt goes up against BHO, there’ll be four more years of Barry. If not, Mitt would just continue what BHO has been doing - ‘cept maybe not going out playing golf all the time.
a coverup is a coverup doesn’t matter if it is a secret rewrite of an op-ed or a denial of a naked wenier tweet.
it’s never the event that is a persons downfall it is always the cover up. Mitt was caught red handed and trying to rewrite one of his biggest gaffes so far of this campaign season. The fact that the union leader has pull the op ed is another story showing that Mitt is has the Nh media in his pocket. A colusion between a frontrunner in the GOp primary and a major state media source is major news also.
I know we all wish we could go back and rewrite history but only Mitt seems to be able too.
Yet I still want to see Sarah snowmobiling across the state, meeting folks at Hockey Games, shooting skeet at the range, and checking out the fishing fleet!
That’ll be a visual feast that Granite Stater’s will take any time!
I’m far from a Romney-bot, but what was so wrong with the original wording?
We are in three wars Iraq, afgan, Libya. We are not at peace. To say we are at peacetime is to totally forget about the wars. Adn a disrespect for those fighting in those foreign lands and dying.
