Transformers: Dark of the Moon: Movie Review

Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the third in the Transformers series, is in some ways the perfect summer movie. A movie where you can turn off your brain, ignore reality, and simply enjoy sugar sweet Hollywood mayhem.

The movie starts with a basic concept: that the space race in the Cold War was focused on reaching the moon first, not for its scientific achievement, but to obtain alien technology that both the Soviets and Americans secretly knew had crashed on the dark side of the moon millenia ago. Americans, led by Neil Armstrong, get there first...but keep the information hidden.

I once worked for Gannett. You've got a point! ;-)

I happen to think that USA Today has been a terrible influence on newspapers, which are supposed to be educating people. Dumbing things down to third-grade level is the opposite of what print media should be doing.

If you're going to ask someone to pay for your paper, the least you should do is give them more than they can get from watching a 30-second story on TV. Gannett years ago adopted that model for their local papers as well as for USA Today. They've basically wrecked newspapers all over the United States by having reporters who don't know their beats very well and don't need to know their beats because all they're allowed to write is an eight-inch story that is barely longer than what people saw the night before on the 6 pm or 11 pm news.

Tribune7 posted on Friday, July 01, 2011 4:53:24 PM: “Now change that to a blogger who has training and posts factual information hitherto unknown to his audience. Are you saying they don't exist?”

Definitely they do exist, but there are others who have nothing but opinions without any original research or facts or training or experience.

In the old days of gatekeepers, people who brought little or nothing to the table in those areas didn't get the privilege of seeing their words in print, except maybe as a letter to the editor. Today, they can run their own blog.

I believe in capitalism. I would never do anything to tell people they can't publish their views, but not all views are equally valuable, and there's a lot of stuff out there on the internet that adds little value.

So, on #1 you decided it was best to be the one to drag the discussion down first?

#2: Nah, I didn’t find it witty. Sorry.

I agree. I like your site, btw. I would not call Pulaski County Daily a blog.

Blogpimping is bad form and a sign of scumminess, Tribble.

Don’t do it here.

Oh I won't Gunner. But I'll keep excerpting as long as it's being done for the NYT until clear directions come down from on high, which is not something to be found in post 500 of a months old thread that keeps getting thrown up by blog-haters who like to pretend to have authority.

Good. See that you don't.

But I'll keep excerpting

Well, there's your failure, junior. Expect some pain for that poor decision.

Rub some balm on that sore bum and carry on.

The NYT isn’t trying to come here and excerpt their articles for hits like you are. Your blog has nothing to do with the NYT. You are out to pimp your blog for hits. At least the NYT isn’t out doing that. You don’t care about sharing information with FReepers, you just see them as a way and means for racking up your hit count. That is scummier than a pond, stinkier than limburger cheese, and more disgusting than holding fifty Japanese beetles in your hand.

No, they're getting "conservatives" like you to do it for them. Frankly, I think that's rather scummy but to each his own.

You don’t care about sharing information with FReepers,

You really are a first-class twit. But that's something you can't help and neither can I.

You really are stupider than I thought. The NTY does not come to FR to pimp their stuff for hits like you do. There is no similarity here. Your attampt at justifying your pimping is sad, lame, and pathetic.

So, why do you always choose to excerpt your own stuff even after being asked to post full articles numerous times? You obviously don't care about getting your stuff out to freepers. Instead you seem more concerned with getting your hits. After all, getting blog hits is all that matters for you, who cares what people say.

Loser.

I saw the movie today in 3d.

Just need to know something. Am I a bad person? When Chicago was destroyed, to no one in particular I said and apparently pretty loud, it was an improvement.
