I’m not so sure...

The last President we elected used all the media hype and still is the media ‘darling,’ even though a majority of mainstream voters have already decided they made a mistake.

I think it is an interesting tact, if she is planning to run for President, that she is employing the act of the constituent palm press. Doing so without the media.

Can someone win the Presidency without the media?

In the age of the internet...I suspect they can. All my life the media has tortured and slander republican candidates...and yet, we still had Reagan, we still elected Bush...twice. All the while the MSM hyping every fault and flaw along the way.

Obama used the ‘new media’ to generate the hype-vote and the old media to control his mass message.

Palin has been through the MSM fires of hell, misquoted, taken out of context, and ridiculed. Some would say any press is good press, but is it? Is she playing a childish game of revenge or is she setting a new standard in presidential campaigns by meeting, We the People, and not “we the press?”

Yes, I believe Palin is doing just that, and because thus far she's been successful with how she is going about connecting with "We The People" we're seeing other candidates incorporating , if not outright copying, 'Palin standards'. Their difficulty, however, is they do not have the time to establish their own 'Style' so it comes off as a copycat of Palin.

Yes, a candidate can win without cow-towing to the media, because as we have clearly seen the media will be there nonetheless where the story is and what brings them ratings, regardless if or not a candidate co-operates with them.

We will certainly see the reality of this as the elections run their course.
