Oh Chris Wallace, so WHO IS THE FLAKE now?

I could not believe what I had heard that yesterday, during the “Fox News Sunday” with Chris Wallace, in his interview of USA House of Representatives and USA GOP Presidential candidate Michelle Bachmann, (R/MI), when Mr. Wallace asked of all the REALLY DUMB questions to ask her: “are you a flake?” GOOD for Rep. Bachmann that she stood up in response to Mr. Wallace’s very patronizing and truly demeaning question to her.

Frankly Mr. Wallace, I would EXPECT a much better and professional manner in how you treated Rep. Bachmann. This really shows not only how you would treat a conservative woman who is running for a major public office, because Rep. Bachman, with many other conservative women who are giving serious thought to running for either the USA House of Representatives or Senate come next year, but also how you treat any conservative Republican.

Mr. Wallace, please, in the future, SHOW SOME CLASS!!

She did, by making it very clear she was not too pleased with that question about being a “flake”.

There are some people who will never forget Gacy. However, they are in a vanishingly small minority ~ even miniscule minority.

To make any headway you'd have to educate the public about what he did ~ in detail ~ and make it sound like new "news".

Frankly, for most people, the deaths and burials of a couple of dozen homosexuals in a crawl space in a suburban home is not gripping stuff.

It'll be an uphill battle just to get their attention ~ which you have to do first to get them to care about the John Wayne aspect of it all.

BTW, although you and I remember John Wayne quite well (I did the machine gun fire for his movie "The Green Beret" for example), even he is slipping from public consciousness.

More than likely the only crowd who'll get upset at any of this are the professional homosexuals and their problem will be the exactly opposite of your problem.

Have you ever heard another Presidential candidate in their life be asked by a main stream reporter if they were a flake before? If so, do give us all that link.

Exactly...

Bachmann does.

Either Bachmann said the name Gacy or you're lying because Wayne and Gacy are not similar surnames. Which is it?

Like I said, Wallace could have phrased his question differently, and probably should have, but whether Bachmann is really ready for a long campaign and the White House is a legitimate question.

What a politician should do when asked a question that's disrespectful is a judgment call. I guess she had the right to get indignant, but ...

1) If she rose to the occasion and was the bigger person she could have proved Wallace wrong and gained some credibility. If she put in an impressive performance, she'd impress people and disprove the put-downs. Getting indignant might be understandable but it could mean losing a rare opportunity.

2) You can only play that indignation card so many times. Is it really wise for a conservative politician to use it against Fox News, rather than save it for use against a real foe?

3) So often it's "I agree with this politician, therefore she put in a good performance." Maybe Bachmann did do the right thing, but I wonder how much of that is simply another way of saying, "I like her" and whether people would have same opinion about another politician with other views.

Oh yes he has lost a lot of Jewish votes.
The non-religious Jews in the Democrat party wouldn’t care if Hamas took over Israel, but the religious people hate what’s going on and he lost that vote.

She said John Wayne (who never lived there) and the only John Wayne who had reported by all the press was John Wayne Gacy.
Career ending gaff.

I think she did alright there, it was the gaff that was historically dumb IMO.
Does not paint her as Presidential material IMO.

Right, like I said only a moron or an illiterate confuses the surnames Wayne and Gacy. The press for one and evidently you for another.

I didn't actually hear the whole Wallace-Bachmann quote when I posted.

From what I've heard since, she didn't sound bad at all. She was more in control than I thought and didn't have the meltdown I'd assumed.

But that John Wayne Gacy thing affected people's opinion about her, and colored what I'd heard about the Chris Wallace interview.

John Wayne Gacey WAS NOT BORN IN WATERLOO, IA.

John Wayne’s parents were and he was born a few hours southeast.

Not 100% correct but it’s not even close to how the libs are painting it.

Didn’t I post this same to you on another thread?

I can’t imagine why a politician would be indignant at the implication that he or she is a flake. Furthermore I can’t imagine why a conservative politician would be indignant at a Fox News fair and balanced anchor giving credence to the meme that right wingers are flakes. I mean really what’s to be indignant at? Just bend over and take it like a good right wing flake.

There is no John Wayne Gacy thing. Evidently you didn't hear her speak in Iowa either.

Campaigns test candidates. If a politician can stay cool and deflect criticism they advance to the next level. It's taken as a sign that they can cope with responsibility.

Having heard more of the tape, it doesn't look to me like Bachmann had a meltdown. She handled his question alright. What hurt her was the Gacy thing, not the Wallace interview. It's more the people posting about this who have the meltdowns. But I guess none of them would pass the test of a long campaign.

It's hard for me to tell what your point is or just how much irony there is in your post. If you couldn't disarm and win over a Fox News interviewer who asked if you were a flake, though, if that sort of thing gets under your skin, you probably wouldn't make a very good candidate. The person who would make a good candidate doesn't let things like this get under the skin.

What Gacy thing? What does Gacy have to do with John Wayne? Michelle Bachmann never uttered the word Gacy. You have been led around by the nose for so long you no longer have the capacity to understand that it is being tugged on. It is pathetic that somebody of your intellect condemns the Bachmann response to Wallace’s inane question without ever having seen it and then doubles down with the Gacy bs, a figment of some leftist reporters infertile imagination.
