Prince, the Grammy Award-winning artist behind Purple Rain, told the Guardian in an interview that women forced to wear burqas in Islamic countries are happy to wear them.
Its fun being in Islamic countries, to know theres only one religion, Prince told the British newspaper. Theres order. You wear a burqa. Theres no choice. People are happy with that. (Burqa bans grow fashionable in Europe)
The Guardian pointed out that perhaps not every woman forced to wear a burqa is thrilled with the idea. The singer acknowledged: There are people who are unhappy with everything. Theres a dark side to everything.

My husband saw a woman in Houston yesterday wearing a full black burka. I know that it gets hot in Saudi and over there but it is desert and the humidity is low. the temperature in Houston yesterday was near 100 and the humidity was not too far behind. I wonder how she likes it now?

He is an idiot.
When I would fly from the Middle East to London (British Airways) why did many take off their Burkas as soon as we were in the air? If they had money their cloths beneath the Burka could be high dollar cloths they buy in London.
Also, the men would start ordering the booze once in the air. However, not many of the women would drink alcohol.

Theres order. You wear a burqa. Theres no choice. People are happy with that. Yeah, women just adore having no choices. It's part of their genetic make-up, don'cha know.
Do I really need to close my tag?

Last I heard he was a Jehovah’s Witness. Seriously.

Prince is looking at this from the wrong side of the burka. Let’s make him wear one for a while in the desert then ask him what he thinks about it.

I know that it gets hot in Saudi and over there but it is desert and the humidity is low.In many parts of Saudi the humidity is extremely high, higher than anywhere in the US, at least for part of the year. Despite it being desert.

Big, loose-fitting clothing is actually quite well-suited to desert wear. It creates a layer of insulated air that allows sweat to more effectively cook the body, and protects from sunburn.

One thing I appreciated about Prince is he steered clear of social/political commentary.... until now.

I would ask Prince to get down off his soap box, but that’s the only way he can reach the microphone.
