The search was justified.
The confiscation was dumb.
I’d say the search was “within the realm of justifiable,” based on known terrorist behavior.
That’s pretending the search occured in a vacuum, not in the context of an agency whose head doesn’t believe young men from Yemen are more likely to commit terrorist acts than old ladies from Omaha.
I'm not inclined to let it go at just 'dumb.' It was at best an overt act of dominance, at worst a sadistic act of cruelty. In either case, it's more 'evil' than merely 'dumb.'
