My new novel is out. As with all of my writing, it's about the attempt to live free in a world that is creeping steadily towards tyranny.
Matt, I ordered it from Amazon, thanks for your great work, you books are the best and I enjoy them immensely!!
The happy old curmudgeon,
Blackie
Thanks. I’m running out of space for books, so I’m getting them digital now.
Well, I know an Archie who does!
That film will only run in the Theater of the Mind.
America is not the only place where movies are made nowadays. Consider folms such as 9ya Rota or Long Tan
Director Tom Jeffrey comes immediately to mind, as does Velko Milosovich.
I’d have to root my nook to run the kindle reader.
Books on tape. You will capture the trucker market.
I think my new book would be the easiest and maybe the best to make into a movie. Pipe dreams, anyway.
I am only familiar with Fenimore Cooper via the film version of Mohicans. Thanks for the tip. That is right up my alley and probably a real fountain of ageless ideas, settings and situations in a maritime world. I will for sure read them.
I’m hoping. I always swing for the stands past the outfield wall. As ball players say, I’m due. But in any case I really enjoy the game.
Via my website most easily.
Whoops...here tis. Enemiesforeignanddomestic.com.
That’s for sure what I’ve been trying to do.
I’ve had so many imaginary movie deals and situations wafted over my head that I’ve learned to ignore them. If it happens it happens. I ain’t chasing that pipe dream.
I know absolutely nothing about translating a novel into a movie but right now or maybe a few months from now might be a good time for you.
Obama will have totally messed up everything and your books will be ahead of the story.
I personally would love to see them all made into movies, that is if they did them right and not change them so much that you would not recognize the main theme.
I absolutely write as if there is a movie happening. I set up scenes with an eye for all of the angles and colors and perspectives. Theater of the mind. I’m Spielburg in my own head at my computer. I’m glad I get to share the vision with readers. Too bad the non-readers (and they are legion and growing) will never see Castigo Cay.
You might be interested in knowing that Kindle is also the greatest thing that ever happened to writers (as opposed to the legacy dinosaur publishing industry). I am Kindle’s number one fan, and I hope Bezos makes billions more, because I get a very share cut of the take.
Just as I hit POST I saw my type. I meant to say “very fair cut of the take.” I hit post in mid-revision.
See number 80 about Kindle and authors.
My custom dingbat is a little black schooner profile of Rebel Yell. It was created for my as a font on Word, not a jpeg or anything. It was not recognized as a Kindle font, and reverted to just showing an “R”. THe custom font was only one letter, R for Rebel Yell. So in the Kindle version I just used ****. Kindle also doesn’t give you the color cover art by Mark Kohler.
I’ll look into Nook next. A few years ago B&N brushed me off, as far as selling my printed books online. They only wanted to deal with “real” distributors of many book titles. Hopefully the Nook side of their business has moved beyond that buggy whip era. I’ll look into it soon.
