My Serbian grandfather and uncle were executed after the war by Tito because they supported the monarchy as career military officers. A lot of games were played at different levels to allow these things to happen.

Tito told Stalin that the partisans would fight the Soviets if postwar Yugoslavia was occupied like the other satellites. He was a very different breed and very pro-western.

I never cared for Draza or the Ustachi. Yugoslavia was so decimated by World War Two that the brutality crossed all sides. Tito was strong and ruthless and even the great Churchill had to deal with him.

Tito reminds me of Franco. It isn't that cut and dried. Just a terrible time for everyone.
