Commentary magazine blogger Peter Wehner says, “These numbers are dreadful…. If Palin were to be the GOP nominee, she would lead the ticket to a crushing loss for Republicans at almost every level.”

More at Commentary Magazine re Sarah Palin:

[excerpt] ...That said, Revere’s quote does technically get her off the hook. Of course, if you believe that this minor incident in the story of the ride is what she was thinking of when she answered the question then you are probably among the minority of Americans who think she deserves to be trusted with nuclear weapons. Because anyone other than a Palinite who watches the video of her answer knows very well that her bumbling response shows she was having a hard time coming up with a coherent answer. Palin’s inability to speak in clear, precise terms about questions of large importance as well as small (such as this) is a chronic problem. She is an articulate woman and many of her positions on the issues are actually quite sound. But she is unable to explain them in any depth because her body of knowledge is tissue thin. Whenever pressed by an interviewer who is not there to puff her, she stumbles and usually blunders. The fact that some of her gaffes can wind up being rationalized in some manner does not justify the pretense that she is person of substance. [end excerpt]

This morning on Fox News Sunday in answer to a question she said "a President Palin would..."

She's running, but by delaying her entry until the very last minute she keeps the opposition (Democrat and Republican alike) in complete and total disarray because she is the de facto frontrunner.

For such a dumb broad, she sure seems to be outsmarting everybody.

“Palin radiates a sense of grievance that is antithetical to the Reagan style and spirit."

I don't get a feeling of grievance, I get the sense of "We mad and we aren't gonna take it (socialism) any more." I don't think that this tour means she's going to run or not run. I think it means she's attacking from a different direction, to move the ball from lamestream media control over to flyover country control. She's changing the game for whoever becomes the nominee. We owe her a lot.

Same old, same old. Mostly routine leftist criticisms of Sarah Palin with a few positive comments from Washington types thrown in for 'balance'. Of course, the woman the leftmedia can't stop obsessing over 'can't win' and they desperately want to believe that any small stumble Palin makes instantly validates their opinion that Sarah Palin is a dunce and that teleprompter-dependent Barack Obama will 'destroy' Palin in a debate because her knowledge is 'shallow'. This BS is really getting old but I know it won't end until the day after election day, 2012 and President-Elect Palin stuns the leftmedia with an 'unexpected' win as Obama frantically calls for a re-count and the left scream "fraud!" - no matter what Palin's margin of victory. I can't wait.

If the bus shows up in my home town on the 4th of July, I’ll know she’s running - announced, or not. My hometown’s 4th of July celebration has a national reputation.

Oh they’re just twisting themselves in knots trying to convince themselves she can’t win. I think they fear she’ll actually get things done thus proving how hopelessly entrenched and useless the powers that be truly are.

None of us can really know one way or another. It’s interesting to guess, but impossible to conclude anything with any certainty. Whatever the outcome, the will-she/won’t-she suspense contributes to her mythos, whether it be as a candidate or private citizen.
