Trump: Palin wants me to run

Trump: Palin wants me to run
By Laura Donovan - The Daily Caller

While catching up over pizza slices in Times Square, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin advised billionaire Donald Trump to “get back” in the presidential races, according to the “Celebrity Apprentice” host.

During a Wednesday “Fox and Friends” interview, Trump told host Gretchen Carlson that he and Palin discussed a myriad of topics.

“Did she try to encourage you to get back in the race because you were, in fact, a couple weeks ago saying you were sticking with Celebrity Apprentice, instead?” asked Carlson.

“Well, she’d love me to get back,” Trump responded. “You know, I had great poll numbers.”

But when host Steve Doocy inquired about Trump and Palin “teaming up in some fashion,” the real estate powerhouse said this particular subject was not brought up.

“We really did not [talk about that]. We talked about lots of things. We did not talk about that,” Trump said.

Several weeks ago, Trump announced that he would not seek 2012 presidency but instead stick with his show.

“I maintain the strong conviction that if I were to run, I would be able to win the primary and ultimately, the general election,” Trump said in a statement last month. “I have spent the past several months unofficially campaigning and recognize that running for public office cannot be done half heartedly. Ultimately, however, business is my greatest passion and I am not ready to leave the private sector.”

but I still fear she can’t beat The One.

The very same people that ushered in the new Republican majority in the House and almost captured the Senate would support Sarah Palin, no doubt in my mind.

She is most definitely brilliant. No doubt about that.

He’s latching on to Palin b/c she’s a press magnet.

Didn't SHE go to see HIM? Wasn't it HER people who contacted HIM?

Trump would be good someplace in an administration. Commerce, maybe. And no, he’s not a liberal.

I think she can win. Really now, can we do any worse than Obama? (No way saying that Palin would be worse at all.)

I think Palin (and Trump for that matter) bring dynamic energy and zeal to the party. The Republican line-up sorely lacks in that right now.

I personally believe they are both VERY concerned about the state of our country. They share a common goal: Obama needs to go. Now.

Well she certainly knows how to play the media and as much reach out to the people in a way they are all enjoying. She has once again captured the headlines...not surprisingly.

I do think Todd has great imput on the strategies they use along this tour and also in all areas of selection Sarah makes. He’s the strong arm that keeps her steady no doubt. I don’t think Sarah could manage as she does without Todd...they ARE two who have become one operation, both with their family, their country and their possible run for office.

The way in which Trump would be useful as a candidate? He could FORCE Hussein to expose just a bit of his sordid past! Just as Hussein offered a copy of his birth certificate—forgery or not—because Trump made such an issue of it, The One might be pressed into revealing his medical history, college history (grades and admissions) SAT/LSAT scores, Illinois Senate records, info on social security NUMBERS and a host of other things now being covered up by the national media. Hell, unlike gutless Republicans, Trump might even point out that Hussein is NOT constitutionally eligible to even BE in the White House, not being a NATURAL BORN citizen (BOTH parents were NOT born in the US!)

The running list of who's in, who's flirting and who's retired. I left out some of the joke candidates - your mileage may vary.

Michele Bachmann
Haley Barbour
John Bolton
Herman Cain
Mitch Daniels
Newt Gingrich
Rudy Giuliani
Mike Huckabee
Jon Huntsman, Jr.
Gary Johnson
Thad McCotter
Roy Moore
Sarah Palin
George Pataki
Ron Paul
Tim Pawlenty
Rick Perry
Buddy Roemer
Willard Romney
Rick Santorum
Donald Trump

*Candidates in red are in the ”I can't get drunk enough to vote for them” category.

P.S. For some of the more delusional FReepers: Red means I don't want them as President, Vice President or any cabinet position. Nutjobs and liberals should not be in charge of multi billion dollar departments which affect vast portions of our economy and our lives. I don't care what their 'specialty' is. No VP Trump, no Treasury Secretary Paul, no Commerce Secretary Romney.

“Well, she’d love me to get back,” Trump responded.

Notice not a direct quote. I’m getting a whiff of BS here.

Yep...I could see Palin, West, Trump, Bachmann and other “New” blood in the next administration. Cain and Cristy as well. Nice to imagine is it not? Matters not to me all that much which is which..but what a team it would be!

The other day I was thinking about how I missed Trumps antics, and laughed..I guess she didnt ask him what his investigators dug up in Hawaii that he teased us about...or about him saying he would release his tax return...didnt Trump ‘beat’ Obama in the end?? (just before Obama’s approval ratings went up 20%??) , man so many suckers fell for his lines like bugs into a glue trap.

If Trump's not a liberal I have to ask what your definition of a conservative is.

Too many people thinking in "eaches". Whatever this is, it is part of a larger strategy with the endgame being defeating Obama.

Since none of us has access to her grand plan we really don't know how this move fits. Fun to speculate, but too easy to come to the wrong conclusion.

The title is a pretty significant twist on what Trump and Palin actually appear to have said.

Well, part of a candidates “Plan” is to keep the opposition guessing what they are up to...not revealing your hand too early in the game...also to divert attention while you shuffle your cards when and if needed. Palin’s done outstanding in that respect.

......and what a fun game to watch!
