Cell phones are frequently cheaper to have than land line phones anymore.

Do you think they shouldn’t have electricity or running water too?

Absolutely. Move them close to a creek, they can use a wash board to wash their clothes.
If they don't have lectricity then they might go to bed earlier, then be rested the next day for wash day. Then maybe they will look for work after the wash.
I would let them have a port-a-john instead of digging them a out house. I am a compassionate conservative.

I have never seen a cell phone be cheaper anywhere than a landline. Even the trackphone cost mre than muy landline does.

My cell phone costs $7/month. Seven. If I use more than that for calls, I just have to add funds, but seven is the minimum. Pretty sure the surcharges and taxes of a land line cost more than that per month.
