I renewed mine last year.
Just follow the instruction and it will be OK.

Many sites don’t like to play unless you use IE Explorer.

I have renewed from the info available on-line.

I just got my wife’s and mine back a couple of weeks back. Just follow the instructions to the letter and be sure the pictures are according to the bureaucrat’s dictates and all will be well. Piece of cake actually. Keep scans of your current passport, naturally.

I have tried this all from a Gov computer and my home computer. I use mozilla at home and IE at work so I don’t think its a browser issue. It is a secure PDF and I never see create form at the bottom. The print icon and file print are not available.

I did it last month. It was tricky.

Until you complete the process, the PDF will be an interim PDF with protections to prevent printing.

I found that I had to launch Internet Explorer with Run As Administrator, and then the website ran fine. Otherwise, Windows "helped" me too much.

I think if you want to apply online it won’t let you print until the very end, but you can go here and either fill out online, then print, or print a blank form, fill it out, then mail it. I recommend that latter.

“It’s a no fee Passport. Government.”

In that case ask someone else at work who recently got a government passport, you may not get that from the open State Dept site, there may be a different application form. Or ask your security people, they might know.

If you're using Vista (or Win 7?), you can right-click on the the program and choose Run As Administrator from the context menu.

You won't see it on a desktop icon. You will see it if you have Internet Explorer in your Quick Launch bar, or if you navigate to Internet Explorer from the Start menu.
