Thankfully, Silvestro wasn't seriously injured in the accident, though she did suffer second-degree burns to both hands. Track crews and safety personnel rushed to her assistance and put out the blaze. She had reportedly been clocked at speeds well over 200 miles per hour just prior to the accident.

Don't post any of my personal information again, you have been here long enough to have known that.

Sorry if I rattled you. But that information is available to any site you visit (or fetch an image or script from, which means a lot of sites you might not even be aware of).

Actually, being a DSL user, you are better off than I. Your IP probably changes more often than once a quarter (I have fiber, and mine seems to change once or twice a year. Not sure why).

The fuel used in Indy cars is 2% gasoline, primarily to make it unfit for human consumption. A side benefit is that it burns with a visible flame.

Thanks. I knew ethanol was denatured, but I didn't think the mix was enough to make a difference - IIRC, for regular ethanol fuel, it was 1 gallon of gasoline to 10,000 gallons of ethanol, but I may be mis-remembering (I used to deal with fuel taxes years ago, and the ethanol was special, because it didn't actually get taxed in my home state). Wouldn't be the first time.

Just because we can find information about one another does not mean we should post it.

Thing is, it isn't really private. It's inherent in how the internet works. You can't serve a web page or an image without an IP to send it to. And there are certain facts that IP leads to, such as approximately where you are and perhaps what type of internet service you have (in your case, encoded in the reverse DNS name).

Then, in addition, there are things your browser volunteers, such as which browser it is, running on which operating system. You can spoof these using certain Firefox add-ons. E.g., if you seem always to be referred by Google, you won't need a subscription to see most of WSJ.com.

I have a friend at GoDaddy that can get me info that is paid to be private too.

That's privileged information! Totally different! It's in the same categoary as what the FBI might get in response to a subpoena. You post that, and your ass (and GoDaddy's, being a deeper pocket) is liable to get sued blue and royally tatooed.

That's privileged information!

And it is private information, and has no business out anywhere. What you posted was private too and yet you posted it on FR for all to see. In each post after that you have continued to post tidbits of privacy on me. Stop it. You have told what type of connection I have, you have explained it's workings, you have even in this post further explained it.

Stop it is all I have asked. Just because things can be found does not mean they should be posted. I don't care what your excuse is, on FR we are not to do it. Stop it.

It doesn't matter what way you get information, it is not to be posted on FR. I don't care if it is the first google result for the whole world to see. It is personal and not to be posted on FR. Putting IP addresses out there is not cool whatsoever.

Then don't reply to my posts. I thought the exchange was over several posts ago. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

And it is private information, and has no business out anywhere.

No it's not. As I said, the internet can't work without it. It has business wherever you go on the internet, whether it be Fresno or Guang Dong Province.

But what you hinted at (getting your buddy at GoDaddy to release confidential clients information), is very privileged, and it's release would be highly unethical. You are conflating the internet's normal workings with the release of truly confidential information.

You apparently just do not understand how the net operates, despite my attempts to educate you.

Good night.

Don't violate poster privacy - Don't reveal online another poster's phone number, address, or other information that the person hasn't already made public for everyone on Free Republic.

LoL

No it's not. As I said, the internet can't work without it. It has business wherever you go on the internet, whether it be Fresno or Guang Dong Province.

Don't violate poster privacy - Don't reveal online another poster's phone number, address, or other information that the person hasn't already made public for everyone on Free Republic.

Notice that while you say it is just public information, I don't see your tagline saying "my IP address is XXXXXXXX". You don't volunteer it no more than I do. It is not listed on your FReeper page and you didn't obtain it via FR, you got it via me either looking at your FReeper page or one of the links you list there. It was not freely found on FR unless you have a moderator friend or position.

But in the true sense, my quote was towards my own information. I was saying if I posted private information on you it would be wrong.

Also, if you have problems with Jim's rules on posting personal information. You should take it up with him. Your post being removed proves it was in violation. As you say "trying to educate" goes both ways if you can't understand this is Jim's site and his rules are to be followed. Argue all you want, but if posting IP's is not against the rules, where is your post. I certainly didn't volunteer the information.

Also I asked that my post get removed, I didn't want to further this discussion after I thought about it (a one up argument that gets nowhere). It got removed, but it was too late, you had replied to it. So yeah, I had basically gave up on this. Personal arguments get nowhere usually, but now you have denied Jim's rules and claimed innocent, it irks me. You post is clearly a violation of the rules, again take it up with Jim if you want.

But what you hinted at (getting your buddy at GoDaddy to release confidential clients information), is very privileged, and it's release would be highly unethical.

I agree, but the word "client" is your word, not mine. But for the record. I use them myself and don't care to have my information released. I leave a pretty broad fingerprint on the net, so I know my id can be found if pressed. But I know the rules on FR and expect others to follow them too. When FR stops enforcing the rules, I will leave (stop posting) and/or otherwise known as "get out of the kitchen".

You are conflating the internet's normal workings with the release of truly confidential information.

I agree that would be unethical and all manner of the meaning. Thus why you don't see me doing it. When I first started on FR I made the mistake of mentioning that a FReeper lived in my neck of the woods. I got a "Knock it off" message and have remembered it ever since. Privacy means a lot to Mr. Jim Thompson (his hidden identity). I value that trait very much and I am glad FR values it, thus why I keep posting here.

I don't give a hoot who you are, you seem to be very intellectual on several subjects. But trying to win an argument via posting private information was not cool and only went to further my argument IMHO.

This will be my last post to you on this subject, it borders on "no personal attacks" and gets sorta creepy to continue. Besides, my kitchen is on fire.

Only Indy 500 I ever went to. He hit the wall right in front of us at the turn, slid across the track, hit the inside wall and blew up. I clearly remember that tire shooting straight up into the air. I was 12.

I'm also a one time race fan of the Indy 500. 1982, the year Gordon Johncock beat Rick Mears by less than a car length. It was the first time the entire field qualified with over 200 mph lap speeds. It was also the year Gordon Smiley died during qualifying. Before then I couldn't figure out what the big deal was about this race. What an incredible place and event! I haven't been back since, but still watch it every year.

The video I saw was a rear aspect and showed vapor/liquid streaming from under the car emerging in the area of the transmission. The underbody tray is open in this area. After multiple viewings I didn’t see any issue with the rear wheels, per se when the car, “took off” for the wall and began its gyrations after the first impact. >PS

It did look that way. Whatever it was it skewed the car.

2 things I hate about New Mexico

1. I can't just see my sisters kids......I miss them

and

2. I can't just get out to the track, I miss Indy.

But truth be told, I love it here and my wife, well she is the best.
