Sarah Palin rips Newt, seriously considering 2012 run

Sarah Palin came out swinging tonight, saying that Newt should stand behind his words and not apologize no matter what the media says about it. She even noted that he wouldn’t have apologized if the media hadn’t gotten in a huff about what he said.

Also, she indicated that she is still seriously considering a run in 2012, but she is still looking at the field. What I liked about her comments was that she noted that her running for President would be about fighting the left and fighting for the country, not being in the limelight for the punditry class.

Sarah has said all along that she would decide about running based on the field. If there is a good strong conservative candidate then she will not run. If its all garbage, then she will. This has been her position from the start, and makes fools of those who play guessing games about her intentions.

Well, what's stopping her from being the solid conservative candidate? Is it the stupid endorsement/campaigning for McCain against Hayworth? She's not running. A leader would get ahead of the field, instead of waiting out the game to see what crumbs are left to chew on.

RE :"Sarah Palin came out swinging tonight, saying that Newt should stand behind his words and not apologize no matter what the media says about it. "

Which ones? Newt changes his position daily, first he said he'd vote for it, then he said it was radical.

What is she talking about?

She is a loyal person and McCain begged for his last election.

His girlfrind will never win a election in South Carolina. Leslie Graham.

One thing you can say about her is that she never does the expected. And it usually works out quite well for her.

Getting her to go against Mccain is asking for too much imho. It be equivalant of backstabbing. I give her a pass on Mccain, but not on anyone else

Was a great interview. Palin is always comfortable and at her best on Greta’s program.

She got it just right about Newt too. Said these candidates shouldn’t be making statements and then run around trying to take them back and apologizing later. Clearly making the point that Newt is only groveling and apologizing because his words went over with a dull thud, not because he didn’t mean them.

Also she seemed pretty clear that she is still considering getting in the race.

I hope she does jump in. The current field of candidates is just a sad, sad thing. I really don’t believe a single one of them stands a chance against Obama, and he *should* be easy to beat at this point. At least Sarah could generate some excitement, even if the media does hate her.

She's got you here to explain it.

even if the media does hate her.

Any GOP candidate they don't hate doesn't deserve our support.

I don't think she wants the job. However, I think she will still run because America needs her. Look at the field. She will do it out of patriotism, unless a great candidate surprises us, and I will go all out to support her when she does. She has to decide whether it is better for her family to have their mother almost all of the time or to have the country she can leave them instead of the country Obama will create. That's a tough decision to make, even though the answer is obvious. She may also already have made a tentative decision and is delaying the announcement until the best tactical time to make her campaign official. I hope that is the case.

Sarah could expose the Won and the MSM at the same time with simple common sense. They are terrified...

It’s not at all clear from the summary what Sarah Palin was saying. I just watched the video interview, and that makes it perfectly clear.

It’s definitely worth watching, to clear up the misconceptions and to confirm that, once again, she knows what she is talking about.

Yes, I think she will run, when the time is ripe. So far we have no other candidate who can do the job that is necessary. Without her, it would be a repeat of 2008, a combination of RINOs and a few good conservatives who lack the experience and recognition that are necessary to win and to get our country back on track again.

She will run, because she will be needed.

Yeah, Reagan was another crumb-chewing slacker. He didn't announce his candidacy until November 13, 1979.

Agreed. Dissing McCain, the person who brought her to national prominence, would have brought Sarah far more harm than good. Sometimes choices are between bad and less bad and 'them's the breaks.'

She has also repeatedly said not to expect her to act in predictable ways...when she said she would run an unconventional race, she meant it. Don't assume anything with Sarah because she'll totally confound and befuddle you if you do.

Hayworth had as much of a chance of winning as you did, with or without Sarah Palin. What a fool.

Right. We watched the great and powerful Noot ( the smartest man in the room ) stumble badly from a Gregory softball. No one will vote for a guy named Timmy and really except for Mittens no one else measures up . No slam at Mitch . If Romney can raise 2 billion and the economy is still in the tank he can beat Princess O.
