Forgive me, Freepers, for I have sinned. My sins are many:
1. I linked to my own website, which is a sign of the arrogant belief that people might want to read what I write. Of course, if I didn't think that, I wouldn't write in the first place, so it's hard to see much difference.
2. I "stole bandwidth," though it's hard to see how posting a short exerpt with a link was worse than posting a long article--or how repeated insulting comments don't also "steal bandwidth."
3. I wanted people to "pay" me to be "showered with my wisdom," though my website has no advertising and costs me $299 a year to run, plus untold hours of time.
4. I used too many bullet points--or is it too few semicolons, I forget?
5. I claimed to have a graduate degree, though this couldn't be true, since I expressed myself plainly, in short paragraphs, and never used a $5 word when a two-bit word would do as well.
6. I claimed to have scars from a line-of-duty injury in the Army Reserve, though this couldn't be true either, since "people like me" usually avoid service.
7. Unlike my critics, I use my own name instead of a screen name, because I'm willing to stand up and be counted for what I say, and believe.
8. I assumed falsely that I was among friends, so any differences could be resolved amicably. Instead, I got more anger and vitriol than I ever got from liberals in the years I posted on NewsMax and on my own website. Yes, they occasionally called me "Nazi," but even the most fanatical never threatened violence or called me mentally ill--both of which are ways communists used to silence those who disagreed.
9. I assumed falsely that most conservatives are interested in saving our nation from leftists undermining it from within, and extremist Muslims attacking it from without. But instead, some are too busy squabbling among themselves about who doesn't really "fit in" with their small group--a sure recipe for defeat.
For all these sins, forgive me. My pennance will be to forgo blogging for a month. Perhaps that will be enough time for the anger to subside. Or not.
Maybe you should take it up with JimRob and ensure that you are understanding and carrying out his position the way he sees it.
I really have to wonder if the U.S. Trade and Aid Monitor is the type of blog that TPTB would find troubling in any way.

If so, why not make a written rule about ALL blogs?
Good question.
P.S. I’m just trying to understand this issue and why some freepers, who are not JimRob and not the mods, feel they have the right to filter FR for the rest of us.
You seem to be part of those acting, literally, in JimRob’s name. If I were you, I’d make sure I was doing things the way he wanted them done before I went around invoking his name.
You may be right on target, but I personally would not go around saying “I understand JimRob’s wishes and, even though I’m not JimRob or a mod, I have created procedures and standards to enforce them.”
To me, I think the most respectful thing to do to respect JimRob’s wishes is to alert the mods when a post is abusive, spam or causes any other concern -— and let him/the mods exercise their own discretion as to what is and is not right for FR.
I've been at this quite awhile and have been active on threads where the blog pimp has been zotted. I haven't seen you around anywhere. From this evidence I draw the conclusion that Jim Robinson is quite familiar with my activities and may not even know that you exist.
Yet you argue and defend blog pimps over and over and over and over and misrepresent what we tell you. This is getting quite ridiculous.
You know the answer to that, hg!
But that's the problem: some, it seems, are in this simply because they like to be vigilantes.
You know as well as I do that when you're in an organization with a chain of command, USING THE CHAIN OF COMMAND is not "tattletelling." And vigilantism is a sure way to completely break down a unit/organization/community.
(Which, come to think of it, is what this issue is sort of doing to FR.)
In my view, it's wrong for a group of freepers to take it upon themselves to speak for JimRob or the mods. The mods are there to take care of garbage posts and they do so ably and efficiently.
Freepers can "take out" posters simply by withering criticism. However, methinks it goes too far when those freepers invoke the owner's name, when he may or may not agree with them on a particular thread's "badness," and proceed as though they are speaking for the entire community.
That's what the mods are for: to speak from on high as to what is and is not appropriate on FR. We help them do their jobs by checking things out and bringing potential problems to their attention. We should not try to usurp their authority by acting on their behalf, according to a standard that has not CLEARLY been laid down and an authority that has not CLEARLY been given.
So, here we are. Let's call it a day. I think we've done a good job at laying out the pros and cons here. Thanks for a civil discussion. Charlie Mike!
You've made your challenge of me personally and I've pinged JimRob. Now you're leaving?
Let's see if I'm in the wrong, shall we?
You know as well as I do that when you're in an organization with a chain of command, USING THE CHAIN OF COMMAND is not "tattletelling."

Just sayin'....
This question is written evidence that you haven't read, or at least haven't comprehended, the quote that we provided to you from Jim. This point is specifically covered in that post.
At least do your homework if you are going to attract this much attention to yourself and continue asking the same questions over and over. This is insulting.
Stepping deeply into drama queen territory, fJ.
Looks as if calling the Big Guy scared our unreasonable troll back to his cave.
I want to thank you for getting him to leave.
He seemed to want to just argue and argue and argue....
Frustrating.
The ever parsing Bill Clinton has left the thread.
Some of would say yes.
You sure are handy to have around ................
You are right about that. But it is very annoying, when you find the posted article interesting, to click the link and find just two or three sentences left in the article. That is blog pimping.
I always get a kick out of that thread.
Eh.
After a while you realize you’re arguing with somebody who just likes to argue for argument’s sake.
It becomes monotonous to me so I just walk away and let them play with themselves.
The best car I ever owned was a Scirocco!
That little black rip could spit and git!
It looked like this one.
I love a car that looks fast, even when it's sitting still.
[sciroccos are actually just The Djinn acting up]....>:-)
Eeeeyew.
