Hey, you! Did you go to the Chino Air Show yesterday (I think it was cancelled today because of rain)? We didn't get there this year.

I spent two days having internet connection problems so I didn't do anything..."sigh"...

I quit doing the Chino Show as you have to park in a plowed field and the water trucks turn it to mud pies...but I've been a thousand times so if I miss a few isn't a cardinal sin. :oP

fellow Americans come out by the thousands, tens of thousands, to hear her and see her talk politics. Not one other political figure -- not Obama himself, nor either Clinton -- could draw more than a thousand, if that. Not one other American, not even the most brilliant and honored of all, Thomas Sowell, could bring that many wanting to hear about politics.

People who know me know I never fawn over anyone...never anyone's bot. I liked Palin from the first time I listened to her and it was as much about gut feeling as anything. All she has done in the last two years is confirm my gut feeling was right. She is something special but not in a messianic way. Just hard to find a down to earth person with that kind of guts and character willing to take a load of crap for the rest of us for love of country. But she also has something unmistakable yet undefinable that I don't see in anybody else right now...that thing that makes her fill stadiums with people wanting to hear what she has to say. In a book I read called "Zen and the art of Motorcycle Maintenance" Robert Persig got into this nebulous thing call "quality" ...said something about "you can't explain it but you know it when you see it"...IMHO this applies to one Sarah Palin...

...and don’t you agree there is a huge difference between Obama-bots and Sarah supporters in that some will fallow Obama over a cliff for the promise of free stuff ...and Sarah tells you you have to “pull yourself up by your own bootstraps”? Comparing the two is like comparing lampshades to lugnuts. Like Sarah to the point of being “creepy”? Really? Liking someone because they promise to leave you alone and let you make your own way in the world is creepy??

Good thing that elections aren't decided by popular vote, but the electoral college.

Anyway, these polls are meaningless since Palin hasn't even declared yet and certainly has not started campaigning like Obama has.

OK - I’ll stand somewhat corrected.

However, I am trying to find it, but there WERE polls showing large numbers of undecideds at some point in 1979. It was discussed on a thread a few weeks ago.

We’ll just have to see what happens.

It’s creepy when someone expresses anything negative about Palin - and some of her supporters jump on their comments and hurl personal attacks and accuse them of being “Romneybots”. This happens ALL the time, no one here can deny that.

That’s what is creepy. I don’t know any other candidates or potential candidates that have that kind of following. I often see the kind of adoration that one would expect to see in a cult-like group.

I would gladly vote for Palin if she becomes our nominee, but I think it’s still too early to say who is going to come out on top. She hasn’t even announced that she’s running & some of her supporters all already saying that she’s got a lock on the nomination. It’s great to be energized about someone - but sometimes it gets a little weird on here. I usually avoid the Sarah threads for that reason, but sometimes I see something that I have to comment on.

It’s a real turn-off for a great many people, and doesn’t help Sarah in the least. I would think that kind of support would be embarrassing to her - like a lot of the supporters for Ron Paul - just WAY out there!

Do you suppose rockinright will come back and own up to the misinformation he believed? I'm imagining he'll come back to help everyone on FR know this newly found truth about early polling and election outcomes, don't you?

:-)

I still have doubts. Fine, the polling 31 years ago, when America was a far different nation, showed Carter winning handily then Reagan pulled it off.

Many of the people who flipped for Reagan are of a demographic that doesn’t exist today - Reagan Democrats.

I’ll see what Palin does. Fair enough?

Meanwhile I’ll still back Cain.

He dared to go against the Oracle of Sarah.

Actually, he made a crude comment suggesting that Palin had performed a lesbian sex act on Tammy Bruce.

So much for well-reasoned opposition.

We can argue all night as to whether or not it's Palin’s FAULT she has high negatives (it is only due to her naivete in dealing with the media), the fact still remains that SHE DOES.

For now. It remains to be seen if she can counter that -- the fact that the caricature of her that has the high negatives is so different from the actual person means that she has at least a fighting chance of overcoming it as she exposes the lie for what it is.

Will it convince everyone? No, of course not -- one of the hallmarks of the mental illness that is leftism is its remarkable ability to disregard any facts that challenge its preconceived notions.

And she need not convince all of the independents, either, just enough in the right places.

Fair enough.

My first post on this thread says we're going to have to see how this unfolds as the campaign gets underway in late summer and I'm sticking by it.

There are a lot of surprises, turns, and events until the first primaries.

If Cain won, I'd support him enthusiastically.

Heck I'll vote for my dog instead of Bambi (and I don't have a dog).

Please don't take any offense by this suggestion, but I think it would be awesome if Cain became the new press secretary in 2012.

Can you imagine the press corpse (laughter) dealing with him?

I see it more as enjoying the absence of a hemorrhoid rather than a void.

OK, I didn't know that.

He was rightfully banned then.

There was a poll that had her 8 points behind Obama about 1 year ago...

All the polls are MSM polls, why would you believe any of them?

I do not believe any of them! All Sarah has to do is carry the same states GW carried in 2000/2004.

If you believe the MSM polls, then that probably explains your positions etc...Need I say more

I like Cain a lot.

But his Stage IV cancer is a big, big problem.

Yes, my one major concern about him.

He better pick a damn good VP.

Herman Cain diagnosed with cancer The Atlanta Journal-Constitution ^ | Wednesday, April 12, 2006

Looks like Cain just celebrated the 5 year anniversary of his diagnosis. Maybe that's why he is calling himself, or he is now being called, "cancer free."

The fact that he reached his 5 year anniversary after being diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer without a recurrence is incredible. I believe only about 5% of those diagnosed similarly reach that point.

almost all Jews, Blacks, and other minorities are terrified of her for some inexplicable reason.

Palin does not give off a self-hating white demeanor like most of the RINO's.
