Let the Savaging of Newt Begin
The Constitution Club ^ | 05-12-11 | The Rat

WILL MAKE ATTACKS ON PALIN LOOK LIKE CHILD’S PLAY

And so it begins. Now that Newt Gingrich has made it official, we’re about to see a campaign of personal destruction that will make the attacks on Sarah Palin look like child’s play. This cartoon had the caption, “Newt Gingrich is Scum.” Catch the drift?

Disclaimer: I am not condoning or excusing Newt’s past transgressions, which include extramarital affairs and the insensitivity of serving divorce papers to one of his wives while she was in the hospital. I am posing the question as to whether or not his past personal life should disqualify him as a candidate for President of the United States.

While we’ve certainly had presidents who have had extramarital affairs – including Kennedy and Clinton, who committed adultery while in office – Newt Gingrich is different: He’s Republican. He’s a threat to liberals because he stands in stark contrast to their president, who is viewed by millions of Americans as far-left, indecisive, and a man with a vision of America that is very different from theirs – and that of past presidents as well.

Gingrich is an intellectual who would most likely destroy Obama in debates: foreign policy, domestic energy policy, fiscal policy. Democrats and their sock puppets in the media don’t want their president in the ring with this guy. So as any good liberal would do, they must attack and destroy Newt – personally. (While we’ll never know – it’s safe to assume that more than a few of Gingrich’s detractors haven’t exactly lived lives of sanctity themselves.)

So let the debate begin. Newt Gingrich brings excitement, intelligent thought and a belief in American Exceptionalism to the table. He also brings personal baggage. In a country that tends to forgive those who apologize for past transgressions, Newt will have no such luck with the threatened Left, who will pull out all the stops to destroy him. That’s a shame; we are a divided country in desperate need of a president with a backbone who puts America first.

Newt comes across to me as an “idea guy” rather than an executive “decider”. I think he’d be an asset to an executive, but not a good executive in his own right.

Newt Gingrich does bring excitement. But his kind of excitement is the kind that can be used to the advantage of our enemies. He is definitely the candidate voted The Most Likely To Follow A Snapped Thong. The guy drops everything for a new conquest, just like Clinton. Therefore he is dangerous.

He should just campaign from Hannity’s studio, no one will ever say anything bad about him there.

When former French President François Mitterrand died,at his funeral his mistress and his daughter (born out of wedlock), also attended his funeral.......

and the DEMOC-RATS kept admiring how the french were so different and so modern..... This was by the time of the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal.... they kept comparing how in America having mistress is a scandal, but in France and Europe it was OK, it was a way of life for presidents to have mistresses......

DEMOC-RATS ARE HIPOCRITES

I wonder when the MSM will examine the many scandalous relationships Obama had with numerous girlfriends back when he was single?

Oh wait, there were NEVER ANY GIRLFRIENDS.

It’s like the dog that did not bark.

He was young, tall, handsome, well educated, smooth, erudite, and....apparently never had a single girlfriend. On college campuses leftist circles have a surplus of women that are extremely EASY.

It’s not like he was a prude or something. He blithely discusses his use of marijuana and cocaine. But no sex? Ever?

At this point, I don’t care about divorce. Who cares? I just want the marxist and his gang out of there. Anyone will do. The media continues to ignore BO’s drug use and his unknown past. Any Repbulican candidate should constantly point this out.

I don’t care when he served the divorce papers. He divorced a cancer-stricken wife after cheating on her, then divorced the second one after she got MS, after cheating on HER.

Not everyone who disagrees with something you believe in is a RINO!

You are correct.

They might actually be a liberal.

Newt is a man without honor. He took a oath to honor his wife then fooled around behind her back.
Newt is a beltway wonk who is out of touch with what people in his own party wants.

It is still murky about what the daughter was clarifying, it is very vague and tepid for an almost 30 year delayed response.

As is the ex-wife’s comment, made 5 years after the alleged event to notorious left-wing Mother Jones magazine...grain of salt...

Oh, I rather doubt that. It may get rough on the old boy, but I rather doubt that.

I am annoyed at the daughters tepid explanation, and it sows doubt for me.

When I first saw it, I was hoping that she would blow the lid off of more media lies and feed one of my pet peeves, media bias, but instead I read it, read it again, and then wondered why she didn’t really say anything, I’m kind of mystified by her letter.
