The most fascinating thing about it is WHERE do they find Lutherans in Miami Springs?Don't you know? We're ubiquitous. (I refrained from using the term 'omnipresent'...) Is there beer in Miami Springs? Well...

The strange thing is that most Latins who become Protestants go Baptist, Pentecostal, or Apostolic all of which frown on drinking in contrast to Lutherans. Maybe they switch because they want to go "dry" and choose a denomination that reflects that. BTW, I have been trying to find material about Puerto Rico during prohibition. It must have come as a shock to the inhabitants of that island since cerveza and rum is/was such an important part of that culture. You work in the hot sun all day cutting sugar cane and at the end you look forward to a cold beer. Suddenly with the Volstead Act it was PROHIBITED. Keep in mind that Puerto Rico didn't become a territory until 1917. For them it was if some aliens had landed from another planet and prohibited the wearing of underwear.
I would love to know how the enforcement of Prohibition went. I'm guessing there was a lot of bootlegging from the British West Indies.

They are known as “snow birds”. Habitat in summer is the northern tier of states and Canada.
