The point of satire is to call attention to an event, especially a tragic one, by making a mockery out of some form of it. Think of Jonathan Swift mocking the Catholic-Protestant issues with his Big Endians and Little Endians, or bringing attention to the potato famine tragedy in his A Modest Proposal. You don’t really think Swift wanted people to eat little Irish babies do you?

Let’s let John (ping) in on that one freedumb2003, because you hit the nail on the head. John does the best satire of the Leftists, and their sheer idiocy I’ve ever encountered, and his success is mostly as you say due the “reasonableness” of it.

I see your point but don't think most people want to be fooled or feel like a fool so I see it two ways: think it's clever and watch for John's post or look for his name on posts and ignore them. I'm of the latter. To me it's was not funny and a waste of my time and I'm betting I'm not alone on this.
