That is exactly how we are handling it. Space is not the issue. Blogs are not the issue.
EXCERPTING blogs with the intent to profit from Free Republic is the issue.
Please use this post to come up to speed on the issues so that you understand it more clearly. Your points are exactly in line with ours. We are doing what you suggest for reasons that you don't seem to appreciate yet.
If you wish I can post a very long post in Jim Robinson's own words that explains the whole thing. But maybe that isn't necessary at this point.
I'd much rather read a so-called blog-pimping post than have to slog through the venomous, hate-filled rants of a knee-jerk blog cop with a stick up their ass.
Blog cops are only marginally more tolerable than real ones.
Just my personal preference.
Also, I don't have a big problem with someone generating a little economic activity along the way, as long as it is not to the tangible detriment of Free Republic.
After all, the situation is based on individual interest. No one is being forced to visit anyone's blog. I mean, aren't we all capitalists here anyway, not free enterprise-hating socialists?
I'm willing to take the good with the bad, but "methinks the lady doth protest too much" and "tempest in a teapot" are my general impressions on blog cops...
