I’ve always thought the Arabs were subsidizing the whackos and bribing our pols to make sure oil stays on the scarce side.
The upside is - I hope - that right about the time our ‘idealistic’ yutes figure this all out, the arabs will run out and we will still have ours. Timing is everything - hopefully we will still have some money left and a country.

Our fearless leader prevents drilling offshore, and sics the EPA onto onshore producers. Then he expresses shock at rising oil prices, and rounds up the usual suspects.
