I should have clarified what I meant, what I meant by what version of Windows XP, the latest, or later versions.
I was told by some computer tech guy that the last or latest version can only be upgraded to Windows 7.

I was told by some computer tech guy that the last or latest version can only be upgraded to Windows 7. Hmmm. I have no idea what version of XP I have. I bought it in 2004. It's probably not the latest version, owing to the age.
Upthread, I was informed that Fry's has offered Windows 7 in a three pack for just under $100 a couple of times recently. That would probably be the way to go for me, provided my old 'puter meets the requirements.
