The GOP Jumps the Shark
The Constitution Club ^ | 04-16-11 | Zazu

According to the latest poll, joke candidate and conspiracy nut Donald Trump is leading the Republican Presidential field by 9 points.

Trump is pro gun control, pro abortion, pro socialized healthcare. He praised Hillary Clinton when she was running for President and spoke well of her health care plan. He has a long history of making donations to liberal candidates including Charlie Rangel, Charlie Schumer, and as recently as 2010 to Harry Reid. He was also recently contributed 50,000$ to the Rahm Emanuel campaign for mayor of Chicago.

Trump is basically a birther Romney only more liberal and with more ego than Kanye West. I think the support he attracts is indicative of two things; there is no strong candidate for the Republicans to rally around and they will desperately cling to any fools hope, and a large portion of the GOP base has moved into the insane asylum and have deluded themselves into thinking they can keep Obama off the ballot. These people are in for a rude awakening. Obama is vulnerable, but still enjoys the support of roughly half the population, in the absence of a strong, viable, and appealing candidate Obama will get a second term. Trump is a dead end, if he wins the primary he stands no chance against Obama, if he loses, he may decide that he wants more attention and make a run as a third party candidate torpedoing the GOP nominee. The GOP will live to regret granting this man the spotlight and will pay dearly for not kicking the birthers out of the party a long time ago.

“I fully support Sarah, but I am disappointed that she tried to soft peddle the BC and focus on other things.”

****

She’s doing the big theme “City on a Hill” and “Are You Better Off Now Than 4 Years Ago” schtick like Reagan and letting others do the mud wrestling. It used to be that the VP candidates, Karl Rove, and Dick Morris-types had the role of mud wrestling while the presidential candidates stayed above the fray.

Even former presidents stayed out of the mix (until Jimmy Carter). Was beneath the dignity of the office.

Gore, Kerry, and Obama haven’t played by those rules. The GOP presidential nominee typically does (for good or bad).
It’s a respect for an office that the current occupant certainly is unfit to serve in.

Another of these “I love Karl Rove hate Birthers Mitt is itt lets kick the Birthers out of the GOP Trump is George Soros” posts

The GOP will lose in 2012 if they kick the Birthers out. Try winning without the base.

At this point those who love Sarah will always love her and those who hate her will always hate her. I don’t think there are many fence-sitters when it comes to Palin.

Sad to see so many putting the political bookies’ prognostications before a simple defense of the Constitution.

The “Constitution Club” seems quite a misnomer for a person or entity that is clearly of the opinion that seeking to see the Constitution adhered to on point is an indication of being a nut.

Actually, I think they would appoint a bi-partisan Commission on Sharks. Two years later, a report on sharks would be released with much hoopla.

I think there is lot of fence sitting about Palin and it has nothing to do with loving or hating her, it's about whether she could defeat Obama or not. I've liked Palin before she became the VP nominee, but I have concerns about her ability to get the independent vote. A lot of this is because how she has been painted by the MSM, but it's what people think of her, not why, that becomes reality in the voting booth.

I think she, or anyone else who wants the nomination, is going to have to follow Trumps lead and get agressive. Time will tell.

...Trump is to the left of Romney and still a democrat, no matter what he say. He was still donating to democrats up to 2010. His conversion is fake

(Obama buddy-turned-pretend-critic Trump is the Dems' attempt at the second coming of Ross Perot. )

We need to be too smart for them!

Many Freepers are Trump drunk and thinking that the warm body they’ve got in their bed is Morgan Fairchild.

I can’t wait to see their expression when they wake up the next morning and realize they’re lying next to Helen Thomas.

You got that right. Trump is more liberal then Giuliani, a bigger liar then Romney and crazier than Ron Paul. Trump is no conservative.

About the author:

Zazu is not afraid of communism, or pacifism, or socialized medicine. A three time immigrant, he was born in 1983 in Leningrad, USSR. Having gotten tired of the bred line scene, Zazu and family packed their stuff and made aliyah to Jerusalem, Israel. They came during the boom of the peace craze when the Oslo accords were signed and everyone was smoking the crack pipe of reconciliation. Having predicted what is about to happened in that country, Zazu and family flew to Toronto, Canada, where Zazu's doctor father was told that he could not practice his trade because with socialized medicine there was only so much money to go around among the doctors.
Finally Zazu arrived in the US where he made himself a home as a freedom loving, gun owning, troops saluting, hard working, flag waving, socially drinking, Constitution respecting, artsy-fartsy movie watching, libertarian atheist. Like many immigrants before him he is settling the American frontier; bringing civilization to the godforsaken liberal hellhole of Ithaca, NY.

The Dan Quayle factor. Doesn’t matter how qualified you are if your reputation gets smeared so that a majority of the population won’t vote for you. Whether that has occurred to Palin yet remains to be seen.

What exactly is the problem with your ego that makes you think that anyone who doesn’t agree with you 100% on tactics is a sellout?

Besides, even if he was foreign born and you guys find the BC (good luck with that, the holy Grail will show up first) and remove him from office, what would Palin’s slogan for her presidential campaign be? “In these perilous times, we need awoman who can find birth certificates.” Compelling...so very compelling.

One great way to defend the Constitution is to keep Obama from getting a second term. Let’s work on that.

Perhaps, but if she is running she must think that could be changed. Given her negatives, there would be no point to a run if she is counting on her current fan base. Maybe she's looking at Reagan's negatives in the same period...I seem to recall they were considered much too high for a candidate to be successful, and I know for sure that the Carter team was desperately hoping for him to be nominated because they saw him as by far the easiest opponent.

"Trump is more liberal then Giuliani, a bigger liar then Romney and crazier than Ron Paul. Trump is no conservative."

But not as liberal as Obozo. Nor as big a liar as the community-organizer-in-chief. And not as EVIL as the anointed one.......I would never vot for "the Donald" but the man does have what you might call a comparative advantage with the current occupant of the WH !! Just saying.
