Apparently that was shut down by Hawaii. A blogger posted a video of someone in Hawaii being told it was $10 to get the Certificate of Live Birth.

Problem is Hawaiian law REQUIRES a birth certificate for a driver’s license. Need them for many other reasons as well. So nobody can get them to keep up the scam Obama ‘already has shown’ his??

Why aren’t Democrats complaining openly about their $2,000,000 in donations being wasted on legal fees? Let’s get that stirred up. One letter to the editor from a Dem (Hillary people are still ticked at Barry for stealing the nomination) should get the ball rolling.

No intent to “dis” the donald, but I do think if a legit long-form certificate for Barry were to become available for inspection - the donald would suffer greatly.

The other side of that coin, is that the Don's popularity is rooted not in the issue itself, but in the fact that the Don is the *only* candidate with spine to address it directly and unequivocally. Even if proved wrong (which I doubt could happen) he still wins for having the stones to deal with it. In fact, even if a valid certificate were produced, it would be the Don's first pre-Presidential success. He will have put a Constitutional-crisis issue to rest before even assuming an office. That would be pretty incredible.

If I were a Democrat strategist (working for The Party and not necessarily for a candidate) I would do everything I could to help Trump maintain, and even gain, popularity among the Conservative crowd. If Trump fractures the Republican vote and Obama wins re-election, the Democrat Party wins. If Trump wins the election itself, the Democrat Party still wins because (FReepers wake up!) the Don is far from a staunch conservative. He's a magnificent businessman and has brass stones, but representative of core conservative values ... he is not. Even if Trump only places well in the Republican primary, his presence splits the vote and may prevent the success of the most solidly Constitutionally conservative candidate in the race. The Republicans are left with a weak RINO candidate which still plays to the Democrat Party advantage. Long story short ... keep Trump in to benefit the Democrats. If I were a Democrat strategist, I would stay the course. That means dodging the birth certificate issue and allowing the Don's popularity to grow as he remains vocal and in the spotlight.

The *only* way for the Republicans to avoid the trap being set for us is by having a staunchly conservative candidate with a pair of stones stand up and start being as vocal as Trump. Divide Trump's limelight. Once again, I think Palin is on this curve -- she's brighter than people give her credit. She has already publicly "supported" Trump's endeavor. That's a great move -- keep it up Palin. However, she is a "frontrunner" and I'd actually prefer an underdog taking on that mantle. Rubio and West, though good men, are completely blind to this trap. They will be the "victims" in a Republican primary where Trump is permitted to hold the lead dog position. I have not heard Bachmann or Cain take a position yet. I'm waiting (and hoping) for that. Bottom line -- Democrat strategy will be to try maintaining the status quo and hold their breath until the election. The Republicans need to change their strategy, and not keep walking this line, or the Democrat's trap springs.

I hear you. There is an interesting opinion held by some lawyers that operate in SCOTUS circles...

That the 14th amendment interferes with the historical definition of Natural Born, making winning a case on one non-citizen parent risky, provided there is birth on US soil.
