Y had an interesting conversation with my flaming LIB daughter (although now that she has a child, her views are SLOWLY changing). I do not use PC terminology; so “Moslems” are Mohammedans and “Islam” is Mohammedism.

Seems that she had never heard anybody use those terms but myself. That’s the way I was taught in the then-Catholic schools. She was incredulous, until the wife spoke up and said that was what she was taught. Mind you, I went to then-Catholic school in NY; wife went to public schools in FL.

Daughter is now a believer; not yet a user. Turn your backs on PC and please use correct English terminology; NOT Arabic.

Tolerating violence and evil is really just appeasement by cowards who are too cowardly to even admit that’s what is going on.

Such as the NY Times, which had no problem showing Maplethorpe’s “Piss Christ,” but suddenly discovered “religious tolerance” and won’t run the Mohammed cartoons.

I would actually respect them a tiny bit if they just admitted they were terrified of having fatwahs put on their heads.

Assimilation doesn’t mean completely giving up one’s own culture, which can still be enjoyed in home life, or even community celebrations. However, it does mean respecting the culture of the place to which one has moved, and not demanding that everyone else adapt to YOUR culture.
