I typed up part of the article, then the oven buzzer went off and I have to go finish dinner. This is a good start for anyone who wants to finish it.
YOUNG MEN FROM KENYA, etc.
The Univ. of HI, which has been attracting students from many foreign lands in recent years, has added three new countries as fall classes begin. The three come from areas that are very foreign to the man in the steet in Honolulu. But by the same token, Hawaii to them was an exotic, tropical wrolds. One of them is Barack Obama, 25-year-old business administration major from Kenya, East Africa. Ali Gundour is a graduate student in international relations from Jordan and the other is Gholam R. Marh???, 20, of Tehran, Iran, who will study tropical horticulture here. Obama is from Kisumu (?) on the shores of Lake Victoria. Thats where his tribe, the Luo, live, which with the Kikuyo (?) are the descendants of about 12 tribes in Kenya. He clerked several years in the capital city of Nairobi to save enough for a college education and picked the University of Hawaii when he read in an American magazine about its racial tolerance. But the money he saved will only stretch out for two semesters or less because of the high cost of livng in Hawaii, he found out. Hell work, he says, and possibly apply for a scholarship. Obama is studying business administration because he wants to help his people who want to get into business. Many of his generation have left old tribal customs behind

Give me a holler when you get to ANYTHING about the STUDENT AIRLIFTS, will ya?
Looks like the same MO, doesn't it? Not a word about Mercer Island high school until questions were asked - where did she go to school, when did she graduate...not a word about the U of WA until Charlette finds the ANNA OBAMA listing in the Seattle directory, and not a word about the STUDENT AIRLIFT I BET!
