Congressional Reform Act of 2011
1. Term Limits.
12 years only, one of the possible options below.
A. Two Six-year Senate terms
B. Six Two-year House terms
C. One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms
2. No Tenure / No Pension.
A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.
3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people.
4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.
5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
8. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/11.
The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.
He’s just here to pimp his blog.
It did not take the RINO collaborators long to kill the Big Mo the Tea Party gave them in November. Starting with the so called Tax Deal by McConnell and now Boner and his big cave in on the shutdown. Phooey!
s’ok.
I was just reading my e-mail and that was in it.
Threw it into the first thread I saw.
Someone please explain how the GOP was supposed to get even bigger cuts through, given they need 60 senators and a liberal president to agree with them to make them law.
Also, someone please explain how this shutdown was supposed to advance the cause of fiscal conservatism?
You pick you battles. If you don’t have the numbers, you don’t charge the hill. You nip at the flanks and you snipe them one by one, living to fight another day when you do have superior firepower.
I guess none of you were ever in the military.
ya’ll rilly dinna beeleave anything would change
ssdd
the only thing that will change anything is a bloody revolution
Looks to me like the pubbies blinked!
If your greatest victory is ALWAYS IN THE FUTURE, you never win anything.
They gave up the biggest card they held.
My blog doesn’t need “pimped.”
Being a Navy vet you should appreciate the need for a good argument every now and then.
They will just continue to print, borrow, spend, and tax. As usual. Fighting over who gets the best split of the Loot.
A bloody revolution? Who do you shoot first? The cop and his family who lives next door?
Do you open fire on the National Guard armory in town?
Talk of bloody revolution is stupid and reckless and get us where?
So, when are you running for Congress?
The problems besetting this country started long ago.
Nothing can fix them now.
They might slow the long slide into hell.
But they ain’t a gonna stop it.
Thanxs for volunteering to be my campaign manager.
This war has been going on for decades. This battle was not an early skirmish, it was a late battle at a time when our country's very economic existence is at stake. It was time for the "Hail Mary" for Victory, not fighting to not lose.
Blinking by the ones who should hold the line is WHY we are here now.
Blinking again got us nowhere. Blinking again tells the RATS you are not serious about winning. Blinking again tells the RATS they can stretch the field and run out the clock with not real threat from our side.
Thanks Silverfiddle!
The next card is the Debt Ceiling. How do you think the screenplay is set up? Will it go down to the wire again? Will Boner cry on TV? Stay tuned for the next exciting episode of...”How the Republic Was Lost”. Starring John Bonerhead and Mitch McConnell.
Back to day 1.
Most of the best people for political office stay away from the world of politics, as much as they possibly can, and this is an ongoing problem with worldwide politics. Too many people that end up running for political office have their own agendas, and/or are idiots, and/or are corrupt, and/or love power, and/or are rich, and/or are personal losers,...How can all of this, finally, end, if ever?
