The more I read of it, the more convinced I become that the epithet ‘birther’ will only be a hindrance to any republican candidate in an upcoming election.
Trump is running around getting himself easy press right now. He has no intention of actually running, and his policies almost certainly are not consistent with conservative values. Other than this birther claptrap I haven’t seen or heard any of his other ‘presidential’ policies. He’s not a serious candidate and any attention paid to him as such is detrimental to the party. Hearing that he’s second among Tea Party voters makes Tea Party voters look stupid, frankly.
I saw a video not too long ago about one of those modern windmills that went out of control in a very strong wind and disintegrated, throwing metal and shrapnel over a half mile radius. Something about the regulator which keeps it from spinning too fast in strong winds had failed, and the power of nature just took over until the blades couldn’t stand the stress anymore.
This situation with the media spinning for the usurper reminds me of that.
The Donald is disabling the media’s spin regulator.

All it takes to be a “birther” is to care about the Constitution, and to think our schools, unions, courts and politicians should respect and observe it.
Now, just as I think some people must be so lazy they would soil their own bed in the middle of the night, rather than get up and use the bathroom, I think there are people — democrats, usually — who are so lazy they would throw away this very precious document we call the Constitution. And concerning those people, I say dogfood is too good for them.
