Rather than accept a few billion in budget cuts (read rounding error), President Obama has signaled his willingness to shut down the federal government. (Yah!) For those keeping score at home, any government shutdown that happens is on Obama’s plate. He is the President. All on him.
The worst part of this whole debate is the Obama Administration’s decision to hold military pay hostage to the budget debate. For the last few decades, government shutdowns have been guided by an OMB directive issued during the Reagan Administration. Under this directive, military personnel would continue to receive the paychecks while politicians argued about the budget. The Clinton Administration, during the last government shutdown, kept the paychecks flowing.
But, not Obama.
The Obama Administration has overturned the old OMB directive and has decided to suspend military paychecks if there is a government shutdown. No reason to do it…but they have decided to. Reprehensible.

Obama doesn’t keep the Pentagon happy, no way are they going to cover his ass when it’s publicly acknowledged he’s a usurper.

My husband and I put in four military deployments, sustaining injury, 30 combined years of service and we, along with many like us, will have trouble making mortgage in deference to Planned Parenthood (which is in business primarily to profit from killing developing children) and other masses of interest groups who just take without giving.
How can this not be the most obvious point?

Yeah - I don’t know if Great Leader has thought through the ramifications of messing with the Pentagon. Even with the multitudes of political-career officers (think Colin Powell) the military will be loyal to the military and to this nation. GL may someday find himself in real, embarrassing, trouble because of this. It reminds me when he tried to dress-down the Supreme Court during a SOTU address. Aside from Mrs. Great Leader, Soros, and his other handlers, who has GL not thrown under the bus?

prayers lifted for you and your family, along with prayers for all the other active duty folks we know...we have two sons that we have offered to assist: one is enlisted and just married, and his brother deemed “nonessential” civil service (an electrical engineer who does R&D for the USAF) is still planning to get married in May. Am so glad my husband has a job not connected to the government and he will continue to get paid...
My friends who are stationed at Andrews in the squadrons that fly P and VP around are just clenching their jaws. This budget mess and fix will not be painless, for sure.

So now, he’s going to alienate Another 60% or 70% of America by refusing to pay our people in uniform. This idiocy, if he’s Truly stupid enough to try pulling it off, will cost his party a super majority Loss in the Senate on top of the White House in 2012.
Although giving him a bat and letting him beat Himself on NPR, rather than our Military, would be a far more just and enjoyable way to expose & defeat the democrat party for at least the next 2 election cycles.
Suspending military paychecks should backfire on Obama big time.
It was also the army that wound up overthrowing the Czar, and leading to the establishment of the Soviet Union.

Zero knows that Repubs support the military. He thinks they will yell uncle if he hold THEIR pay.
This SOB, sends them out to fight but thinks of them as pawns in his political agenda.
