Maybe we'll find more out about this islamist later (not in the US Media though) - but from this initial read it sounds like he was stark raving mad, and his religion had nothing to do with it (other than the fact that if you actually read the koran and claim that its the 'word of God' -- you are going to damage your brain by trying to mentally manage the book keeping in your brain that something that is illogical and blasphemous is holy. At some point I could see the person fritzing out their brain cells).
