I’ve got to ask.

Do you see no difference between seizing books and burning them, and burning one that you have purchased and own? Between making a political statement, and trying to destroy, root and branch, knowledge that refutes your own ideology?

Two further questions, what is your position on burning the American flag? How about wearing a Confederate flag T-shirt to school?

Since there is no protection of “freedom of expression” actually IN the constitution and it is a creation of the court in the last 60 yrs, I have no problem with laws preventing the burning of the flag.

School authorities can prevent confederate flags or the Gay Lesbian and Transexual flag from adorning young morons. I am not an advocate of “freedom of expression” for students.

As to your other question there is no difference in impact of burning a Koran that you own or one that is stolen. Islamaniacs don’t care if it is stolen or bought. Ideologies are never protected by burning books, they might even be more effectively undermined by doing so since that shows a weakness in the power of communication.

Look at the Soviet Union, for 80 yrs bibles were banned and religion suppressed but what was one of the first things that happened after Communism collapsed. Churches immediately reopened and people flocked to them. Church attendance is probably higher in Russia today than it is here.
