The rebels in Libya are in the middle of a life or death civil war and Moammar Gadhafi is still in power and yet somehow the Libyan rebels have had enough time to establish a new Central Bank of Libya and form a new national oil company. Perhaps when this conflict is over those rebels can become time management consultants.
They sure do get a lot done. What a skilled bunch of rebels - they can fight a war during the day and draw up a new central bank and a new national oil company at night without any outside help whatsoever. If only the rest of us were so versatile! But isn't forming a central bank something that could be done after the civil war is over? According to Bloomberg, the Transitional National Council has "designated the Central Bank of Benghazi as a monetary authority competent in monetary policies in Libya and the appointment of a governor to the Central Bank of Libya, with a temporary headquarters in Benghazi." Apparently someone felt that it was very important to get pesky matters such as control of the banks and control of the money supply out of the way even before a new government is formed.
Of course it is probably safe to assume that the new Central Bank of Libya will be 100% owned and 100% controlled by the newly liberated people of Libya, isn't it?
LOL
Not only have they gotten TARP funds but Goldmans already set up a trading desk next door. By this time tomorrow they’ll be shorting the silver market and trading carbon credits.
What we are witnessing is months of planning, if not years.
Someone needs to trim the caliphs horns and take his trident.
Shit! Take his tridents and park them!!!!
That is my first thought too.
The Real Cost Of U.S. In Libya? Two Billion Dollars Per Day.

I’m thinking Bin Laden may be behind this. The West is going to look like absolute fools when this thing is over. We’re going to replace Khadafi with Al Qaeda.
With Caliph Obama running out of control like this, there will be no west.
here
To reach this goal, the Transitional National Council announced its official establishment on 5th March 2011 in the city of Benghazi, stating its perseverance towards the aim of relocating its headquarters to our capital and bride of the Mediterranean, the city of Tripoli.
Already in Wikipedia.
Well, I guess they need somewhere to deposit safely all that walking-around money we’ve been dropping on them.
Heard an East European analyst talking the other evening with English subtitles. SAid Libya was one of the wealthiest ME Islamic nations. Has a per capita income of over $14,000 annually which is sky high for that part of the world. Only a few ME nations such as Qatar and Kuwait (very small with enormous oil wealth) are higher. All Libyan students studying abroad have their studies paid for 100% by the government. The government takes cares of nearly everyone there and it’s nothing like the near universal poverty say in Egypt. Said basically you’ve got 5,000,000 Libyans supporting Q and about 1,000,000 against.
Somebody has their eye on all that wealth. The banking cabal is getting ready to rape the country.
Sounds like Uncle George must have opened up his checkbook.
“Im afraid were setting up a new government for either the taliban or alqueda or both. Regardless, its not a democracy...its a Muslim State and always will be.”
Of one thing have I been certain since we began hearing of this rash of “freedom” movements: That Islam will replace what is there. Wouldn’t even feel too surprised if it turned out that they were somehow connected in finance etc.
The same with Egypt.
Thanks opentalk.
