I thought we already had several very expensive gov’t agencies that could break any code on earth before breakfast. What, the feebees aren’t paying their bills for inter-agency work?
So in other words, the NSA told them to go pound sand.

Of course, if you can decrypt it, you become the prime suspect.
Oh well, I’ll do it anyway...Be sure to drink your Ovaltine.
I’m waiting for the fbi@home client.
Mine sez:
Happy Trails to You! Roy and Dale.
Could be license plates numbers written by a
schizophrenic over time
i like killing because......-zodiac
Obama did it.
It sure looks like a couple of hackers trying to find the right Microsoft product key to steal software.
This is the kind of thing where if you “solve” it, you become the prime suspect.
Looks like car stuff written down after pscho episode.
Lots of SE - you see that on the back of a lot of cars.
If this was in the pocket of the murdered person - it could
be his and he is paranoid schizophrenic.
It was Col. Mustard, in the Kitchen, with a Candlestick.
Didn’t a couple of amateurs, Don & Bettye Harden, break the Zodiac code. Like the guy from the FBI said, it is probably a unique code and they were hoping someone with “fresh eyes”, in other words, a nut, could decrypt it. It was the victim’s private code and probably won’t be useful for finding his murderer in any case.
It says “I don’t care if you don’t have a silver gun! Just throw in any thing you’ve got and dump the body in Ft. Marcy Park, you FJB!”
