The information I got from it was last week on “Hot Air”. I read that the issue was very likely to be voted on and had already passed. (Town Hall I believe) I was unaware that the Senate had held it up.

Too bad for Alaska. Drilling has been seriously slowed there because of the tax. I’m sure you think it’s a great thing though.

As far as my supporting Huck, you are wrong. I have never said I supported him.

"Too bad for Alaska. Drilling has been seriously slowed there because of the tax..."

Too bad for liars. It's not a "tax." It was a reapportionment of the Oil Royalties. You just can't keep facts straight, can you? Or is it honesty you have a congenital revulsion for?

There already was a Petroleum Profits Tax. The people of Alaska, who own the resource, passed that that several decades ago. Palin raised it on average about 2.5% when she signed off on ACES.

Palin's ACES tax replaced a previous Petroleum Profits tax rate that was passed one or two years before ACES. Generally speaking, the earlier tax was considered too generous by the people who own the resource, the people of Alaska. Palin's petroleum profits tax was on average about 2.5% higher than the previous PPT and it was considered in the mid range in comparison to the earlier decreasing ELF tax, that the previous PPT had replaced.
