(Dallas Cowboy multi-cited for saggy pants/exposed buttocks at some hoity Dallas Mall)
Ignorance is ignorance. It's never bliss. Whether you're with your honey, or driving a nice ride, living in affluence or, in the latest case, being a member of the Dallas Cowboys, it is simply never, ever a good idea to become conspicuous for being clueless. Naturally, most of us have better things to do with our time than to develop the insatiable need to tell this to Dez Bryant. But since his evident stupidity seems to be a bit contagious, perhaps it's time to tell it like it is.
Bryant's not an idiot. He just appears to be one. And if he continues to behave the way he reportedly behaved at the NorthPark Center mall in Dallas this past weekend, that stigma will be the kind of permanent fixture on his profile destined to cost him big-time dollars, and possibly his burgeoning career with the Cowboys.
Dez Bryant's run-in with off-duty police about pants hanging too low wasn't his first incident at NorthPark Center mall. And rightfully so.
You do not get into arguments with a police officer. Especially when it appears that police officer actually had a point and, quite honestly, you don't. While we're still unsure as to whether it may have been a crime for Bryant or his friends to be walking around a public mall with their pants hanging below their backsides, being asked to pull his pants up doesn't fall under the category of "profiling."

And "Bryant's not an idiot. He just appears to be one."
Let's see, honesty & late-for-practice problems at Oklahoma State, late for work problems in the NFL, and now he's leading a cheeky, chippy, throwin'-down-with-some-lady-in-the-food-court posse 'round an upscale, suburban mall? Bryant's an idiot, Steve.
Man I must be getting old. I actually remember the days when you would see professional athletes dressed in suits whenever they were not playing or practicing.
And you wonder why teams like the Steelers dumped Santonio Holmes and Plaxico Burress....
The author follows the phrase “...perhaps it’s time to tell it like it is” with a sentence that opens with: “Bryant’s not an idiot...”
Way to ‘tell it like it is’, there, Mr. Smith.
If the coaches can look like slobs on the sldelines then what is to be expected of the players.
Belichick comes to mind.
Any publicity is good, just be sure to spell my name right!
Cue that rap, “Pants on the Ground”!
Mr. Smith is 100% dead on. So why do young black men feel they can do this? Well, if Mr. Smith were white, he would no longer have a job after writing this article. THAT is why young black men do this.
I see any number of such actions to force whites to accept the intolerable or be called racists. Frankly, the term “racist” is meaningless to me now, as the race card has been over its limit for some time.
I shop at Northpark Mall often. It is an upscale mall near the very wealthy parts of Dallas. Unfortunately it’s near the other side of Dallas and crime is problem at Northpark. Gang activity has increased so Northpark has lots of standard and rules to keep it clear of potential crime.
Dez should have known you can dress like that in Northpark. It’s not a black thing. He’s an idiot!
Around here everyone is shaking there heads at Dez’s stupidity!
A punk is a punk,a fool is a fool, and Jerry's 2010 gamble is both!
